Celtics need to mix it up when they get the last shot tie game. The 08-12 Celtics, even though PP stepback was the go-to, Doc Rivers still mixed it up by sometimes doing a lob to KG, running RA off a screen, or a backdoor cut to Rondo. The uncertainty this created made it even more effective when they did decide to iso PP. Right now all the Celtics do is go to Tatum. Teams see it coming from a mile away. If the fans know its coming, the other team sure as hell does.

Likewise, there's certain times I see Tatum at the 3 point line, starts sizing up the defender with a side to side dribble move, and right then I know he's going for the step-back 3 about 4 seconds later. It's like once he starts that size-up dribble, he goes into tunnel vision mode and there's no doubt what is coming next. It just makes it too predictable. In these situations, he's like a boxer who telegraphs his punches. That's my frustration with Tatum. He's got the tools but his game is still somewhat unrefined in that regard. It's not that he's not great right now, but these couple criticisms are just the things that he needs to be truly elite. If it sounds like we're being overly critical, it's just because we see untapped potential and know how deadly he'll be once he addresses these minor issues.

Speaking of which if it wasn't for the blown goal Tend already would have 7 fbps in first 5 minutes compared to 14 from last night.
