It's completely expected that with us being up 3-0, they will give KP more rest. I'm sure he'll be available for the Finals.

Pacers shooting has been insane the last 5 games.
I wonder who will be the Michael F Jordan in Game 4.

It's the doubting fans that's throwing out that narrative that's looking mentally soft.

He’s had stretches of being really good on D. Will be a fun wrinkle to see how he and Springer and to some extent Queta can impact this team next year going forward.
He just kinda stays on his man no matter what's going on on the court. It helps his optics because he's usually not around when numerous baskets are scored but it would be better if he could or would help a bit.
It might be because he's not familiar with our schemes.

The #1 difference to me how Tatum looks from his younger days and to now, is the fact he used to just play instinctively, release faster, go into his moves without thinking. Now, he over dribbles more, over thinks the right play more, and doesn't look as fluid and easy going into his shots. He gives defenses extra time to adjust. He used to be more lethal when he was young and reckless (with going to the basket and dunking, too). He plays a tad slower and more cautious now.

He bulked up a ton. Not sure if it's coincidence his 3 ball hasn't been great the last couple of years.

he looked way more fluid and less robotic back then. not sure what changed that. it still feels like his added size is still something he needs to get used to playing with, because he looked way more natural off the dribble back then, even though he's a significantly better player right now.
sometimes he plays bully ball and tries to force his way to the basket and/or look to draw fouls but then at the last minute tries to pull some finesse move and doesn't finish through the contact.
he's also guarded way more heavily than he was back then so his moves look way more predetermined now . he didn't have to deal with a single double team in those highlights, so he played with more creativity as a youngster not having to overthink things. this all started in the 2022 finals & teams have been guarding him like that ever since. maybe he's just overanalyzing instead of just making quick reads and playing freely.

It's unrealistic to expect to play the same way when you add 12 pounds of muscle.
The young JT was a true NBA wing player.
Right now JT is transitioning into a modern day PF.
With this evolution, JT needs to complete his transition by the time he's 28 years old.

JT has abandoned his mid-range game which was lethal. He also no longer has the luxury of being another guy instead of the main focus of every scout, coach and player on opposing team.
The muscle was necessary. He is so much better at finishing through contact at the rim which is necessary to compete at the Finals level and the emergence of teams like Butler’s Heat.

True.
He replaced the mid-range with the post-up.
His trajectory as a young player was becoming the next KD.
Right now he has a little Lebron in him.

Hos shooting form overall seems different. Drew Hanlen could have altered his form, and not in a good way.

Tatum shot 44.5% on wide open threes, he's still a good shooter. The difference is when he was younger a bigger proportion of his threes were easy shots (in his rookie season, e.g., more than half of his 3pa were wide open threes vs. like 12% this season) and corner threes.

Just look at the shoulders and biceps of the young JT and compare that to the JT now.
The added muscle will affect the shooting touch.

Here we go then. Reaching the Finals should never be took for granted. Even a franchise as storied as ours has been there twice in the last 15 years. Time to take one more leap towards history.
We going back to Boston for the Finals Game 1.
