But if his touch is that bad than i dont think he's nba quality unless he is good in every other category, e.g. rebounding, rim protection, screening, perimeter defense, etc.

Keeping track of 5 guys in space probably easier than 11, but yeah, using the hands a newer skill.

Made no sense to draft this kid when we have Queta who is rhe same type of player(better) on a cheap contract already.

I’m so ready to have this guy be a blend of Mitchell Robinson and Naz Reid.

Wasted pick

1) Our C depth is headed down the tubes. KP traded. Al and Kornet are FA, may not be back. All we have on the current roster is Tillman (who provided zero on court value last season) and Queta (who has a partially guaranteed contract for next season. Only $1.1mil of his contract is guaranteed, the rest of the $2.3 mil is guaranteed if he's still on the roster on opening night which might not happen.

So there's at least somewhat of a possibility that Amari Williams is our starting C on opening night

2) They're pretty different players. Amari is 10x better passer, 10x better at ball handling and driving. Queta a little bigger, stronger and more athletic but also more raw and less skilled..despite having more NBA experience he still is foul prone on D and has trouble setting screens on O. has much more NBA experience, a much more proven NBA player, So it's good to have both. Queta is more proven. Amari is more skilled and higher basketball IQ, higher feel, less raw and higher upside since he's about 2.5 years younger

They aren’t remotely the same type of player. Weird to tell on yourself that you have never watched Amari Williams play basketball other then for maybe a 2 min highlight reel

You need more than one big. Queta and Williams are literally the only two we have.

I agree.

But I would have gone a completely differemt route. Maybe a shooter. Kalbrenner or Raynault

I hear ya. I would have considered one of those guys at 32, maybe Broome or keeping Penda as well…rather than trading down, but Williams potentially brings a lot more to the table than either of those guys so I am OK with it all.
Will be interesting to see how those guys we could have had at 32 compare over time with Williams.

Well technically they still also have Tillman but I’ve been guilty of forgetting his entire existence too lol

Yeah he is 6’8” though….I hesitate to call him big.
But he showed flashes of being a lees long Horford lite at times. I sure hope you can get through whatever physical issues with his knees and get back to that.

I’m not sure what’s more absurd… saying that they are the same kind of player or acting like teams only need one center even if they are

Wanted to find footage of him shooting a FT, and it’s in here but it wasn’t pretty.

But I LOVE the way this guy passes — including quick decisions in transition — and how he can also handle and LOOKS AT THE RIM which for the life of me I thought if Rob Williams could just do — little two dribble drives, jump hooks, maybe a jumper but maybe not even — he could be an All Star.

So: if it’s a gap year? **** it. Go with Queta and Williams at the 5. See if one or both can do it. Tell me why not below:)

Dude, your draft analysis is based on a guy we basically pulled out of the G league? What the hell? Jayson Tatum should have almost no impact on who we draft and you think Queta makes this a wasted pick??

I can't fathom being this clueless.

Other centers available, higher ranked with differing skillsets that could be used to offset the skills already on the roster.

Its not a difficult concept to grasp.

Just try...

I would have rather they pick Bogo and his potential upside.

I guess they saw Bogo as a stash or a G League guy from the start, where they see Williams as a guy who can compete right away.

If they went with Bogo, I'd say they end up keeping Luke, but the Williams pick could mean they are choosing to move off Luke.

They put him on a 2-way, but it'd be great if he forced their hand on that.

Who's Bogo? I wracked my brain for 13 seconds and then gave up trying to figure it out.
