Damn...Artest and Bowen guarding Pierce and Allen is going to make the finals interesting. Can't wait.

Christ no. Someone needs to step up and block this trade with a better offer. I hate the SPURS.

THE SPURS single handely ruin basketball with their extremely boring slow down play. The "right way' is the boring way and our FINALS ratings have sucked every single time those guys end up in the finals. Is their a more unexciting player then Tim Duncan? Ever? I mean the guy doesn't even run up the court. He just JOGS. It's like watching paint dry.

Hopefully Denver will get him.

But if it does go down, Sacto should be unloading KT and getting either Splitter and a pick or Mahinmi and two picks.

I'm sort of hoping for a Boston/SA final to be honest.

Ian Mahimi isn't going anywhere. he's next in line and we all know the success the Spurs have had developing foreign players. they take too much pride in it to trade Ian. Plus he's having a terrific season in Austin. He's only a year or two away from being a nice contributor to a championship caliber team who keep in mind, will be reloading around tim, Tony, and Manu after this current championship run. free agents will jump at the chance to win a title and play with these three guys.
san antonio isn't going away anytime soon. their run has another 5 years of championship caliber basketball.
tim duncan isn't the type of guy relying on athletic ability. he already jogs up and down the court at half speed. he can play at an 18 and 10 level until he's close to 40. Tony Parker is only 25 BTW.

That kind of makes an Artest trade impossible, no? What other contracts does SA have that 1) they'd be willing to trade and 2) match up with Artest's? Horry? Oberto? Bonner? What tradeable picks do they have left, also?

I'm guessing that Artest may end up in Denver (if they don't go for Mike Miller instead).

If Artest goes to Denver, they have a lot of talent there, with a potential starting five of Camby, KMart, Melo, Artest, and Iverson. They're gonna be a tough out for whoever they play (if it goes down).

In fact, all the top West teams have stepped up in recent weeks. The Western Conference playoffs are gonna be brutal.

I can imagine Presti talking his old friends at the Spurs out of wanting Artest and oh, taking his guy KT instead -- but if Presti had never left San Antonio then surely Artest would be headed there, lol. Bow down to Sam Presti.

I guess some media report in SA has the Kings backing out of a "done deal" at the last minute, and SA having to settle for KT???

I'm going to try to stay within the ToS, but...Please do not behave as if you were a moron. The trade almost happened, the thread's author had valid info. If you are interested in not behaving as if you were a dumbass, then check out the link Pogue posted in the KT thread, where this thread's author provided similarly valid info about the KG trade. If you insist on posting the same "LOL" stuff in this thread, then I'm going to keep reminding you not to behave as if you were a (Please Use More Appropriate Word).

Waaaait a minute. No. The guys who asked for adding a question mark to the thread or not making it sound like it's a done deal before anything happened get to say the last word and have the last laugh.

Artest to Spurs. NOT.

You don't get to be wrong AND berate everyone who questioned the wrong statement. Close; not close. Who cares. The original Post title: "Artest to Spurs". Original post content: "for Barry, Elson, and picks.". Next time just add a question mark; say it COULD happen; say you heard it from a source, etc.

No.

The guy was relating inside info, exactly as transmitted to him.

That's the difference between a phony rumor mongerer like CThug or whoever, and a guy like ddb -- there's no need for ddb to couch his inside info in delicate phrases, because MOST people here know enough to respect the quality of his info, know that what we're getting is the straight dope, whether it's ultimately consummated or not doesn't actually really matter. So you asking like a child for a link or a question mark is still stupid. Figure out the history of the freaking threadstarter yourself especially if it's alluded to in the same freaking thread you're about to post on, and keep your infantile "LINK?" in big letters to your self next time.
