lol at taking Wallace's contract, makes no sense since he's on the books longer than KG/Pierce.

3 first rounders and more ping pong balls with Andrew Wiggins name on it is why it makes sense. And KG having to approve a deal is why it makes sense.

We can easily be in the running for a top pick next year, with or without Rondo. The Celtics were heavily underachieving this past season with Rondo in the line-up. We were barely over .500. Once Pierce and KG are gone, and we bring in all the scrubs from New Jersey, we should easily be 10-15 games worse for that reason alone. Combine that with the fact that players will be less motivated on a non-contender and we will be flat out putrid.

Surely 3 picks, Toko, expirings (Humphries/Bogans - around $15m), Evans (still has some value to a contender?), dumping Terry + Wallace's bad contracts is better than Jordan + 25?

I dont see how people prefer the LAC offer.

Great mathematics where 3 late round picks is worth 30 million dollars....and throwing away Pierce and KG.

This is like us getting Duncan & Manu for Bass and terry and three late firsts...

It hurts my head. Honestly hurts my damn head that we have celtics fans who don't see the writing on the wall. Look, I sure as hell ain't looking forward to 20 win seasons either and I'd love to have okc, Indy or Memphis for our roster.

But Danny doesn't let doc go, trade kg and pierce and NOT tank his season. Ok. I get the arguments as to why you wouldn't do it given the odds.

What are the odds the celtics aquire a franchise player by NOT tanking? Tell me those odds and maybe you can convince me that the celtics aren't preparing to go all in.

If they bring Rondo back slowly they will absolutely have a shot at Wiggins.

Rondo will be on the court sooner rather than later.

I wouldn't be so confident about that. It would be a mistake to not bring him back slowly.

And add in a rookie coach.

I think the Celtics may end up the favorites for the top pick. Unlike other gm's of bad teams, Ainge has the credibility to do a "full tank" since the team was excellent 5 out of the last 6 years. And even the veteran players like KG admitted that they weren't just a healthy Rondo away from contending.

I think Ainge is a great GM...but I'll lose a TON of confidence if he takes on that deal.

He already has taken on the deal. It's just up to KG.

Actually the gm of the Celtics and ownership can count. This deal drops overall salary I believe.

2 out of the 3 first rounders may be lottery picks and not late. This deal also enables the Celtics to get a few of their own lottery picks and start the rebuild in a very good draft class.

The trade would give us a much better shot at Wiggins with our pick.

Because it would make us a worse team = loose more games = more ping pong balls.

The ping pong balls are from the Celtics being lousy next year not the Nets.

Sort of hard to tank next year -- although not impossible -- with both KG and PP on the team. It's the 2 Nets picks later on that have a real chance to be very good.

Oh alright, I thought he was referring to the Nets pick, brain fart.

Yeah, we're not gonna be that bad though.
