What I mean by that is he doesn't strike me as the type of player that can miss a few shots, forget about it and then knock down the 4th. He seems to think too much out there, very cerebral in his approach which at times can work against him as a player.
Especially, coming off the bench.
What's happening is if he misses his first couple shots, or if he turns it over, because of the depth and talent he has around him he starts playing way too conservative and defers to his teammates.
Guys like Kyrie, Morris, Tatum....they will keep shooting and staying aggressive. Tatum in particular has had many games where he seems like he can't hit the broad side of a barn for 3 quarters, and then goes out and drops 14 in the 4th.
I want to see Hayward realize that he is Gordon Mother **** Hayward. He is a bad man when he stays aggressive and gets it going.
There should be more nights like up in Minny in Gordon's future. He has shown us it's in him post-injury. It's not like he hasn't played well because he has.
I just don't like his conscious as a player.
Get after it Gordon!!!

Those guys can afford to stay aggressive too and keep shooting since they take A LOT more shots. Kyrie takes the most in the majority of games and then Tatum and Morris take the most. When those 3 can all score well we are a tough team to beat.
Al would be the next one up with shooting but he doesn't go crazy with it. Slowly roles are being more defined on this team but people seem unsettled still since Gordon and Jaylen (who were expected starters entering the year) are so blah. I don't think Terry is a problem since he is still the cute backup and team guy and people seem to really like having him around.
Outside of the game in Minnesota, I don't think the team has really fed Gordon to have a big game. But maybe behind closed doors they know more then we do? He simply might not be ready right now......
Although I do find it interesting that Kyrie said early in the year when his shot was cold and he was rusty that the coaches and team told him to keep shooting and to just keep doing it. They wanted him to shoot his way out of his slump I was guessing.
My only guess is Gordon decided weeks ago to take a more passive role for the team; for his body or his mind I don't know but Marcus Morris GLADLY took that spot up front and seems to really enjoy it more LOL. I don't think Gordon wanted to also feel responsible for losses, he's technically the new guy on the team based on missing all of last year.
You aren't wrong though......some guys just seem a lot more aggressive minded and want theirs. Gordon seems more passive then I had even imagined he would be? I never watched Gordon with Utah enough. Based on highlights though he used to dunk and he used to move around a lot faster then I imagined he did.
Gordon isn't really costing us any games though IMO but you could argue down the road we will need him to become an X factor in the playoffs.
Wasn't he always mainly the #1 option in Utah though? The system was built a lot around him?
Now here there is not much built around him at all. In fact GH, JB and TR are kind of the **** trio sandwich. They sort of just aimlessly go out there flapping their arms around hoping something happens.
I mean I never seen this before. What I mean is I never seen such bright talented players become utterly so useless at times. It utterly flummoxes me.
I am not even upset either, I am seriously perplexed.
