That's what it would take if Al or Rob is not included with Malcolm. 6 players for one.

Having everyone shown up early before training camp and then drop a bomb like this would wreck the season.

Maybe Jrue will be a decoy. I can see Brad pulling one more move; something that no one expects.

That’s a combo I’m glad the NBA ever had to see. Likely would have ended the sport as we know it.

Yeah turns out having a good 1 & 2 doesn't always get you past the 1st round if the rest of the team sucks.

Holiday
White
Brown
Tatum
Porzingis

I’ll take that.

It seems like, you either include Al or trade away your entire bench you just signed/drafted,
so it makes more sense to do something like Brogdon - Horford - Pritchard and Firsts for Holiday.

This isn’t going to happen. Himmelsbach is connected but we don’t hear Brad’s trades before they happen. Not really a viable path to making it work.

For those making a comparison of Marcus smart efficiency to holiday., I feel it is very deceiving.. Marcus smart was never asked to be the second or third go to scorer like Jrue has been in Milwaukee...I would strongly consider doing Brogdon AL and PP + GS pick for Jrue..

I don't want another year of going through almost.. I feel Jrue pushes us much closer than Brogdon and Al..
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

I just saw your post and I believe we are on the same page concerning trades.

What?!

Smart was our 3rd scorer in our Finals run. 3rd in shot attempts, 3rd in usage. Same as Jrue with their Finals run behind Giannis and Middleton. Again, the difference was Giannis and Middleton were better than Jays in the Finals.

Objectivity is out the door when we talk about Smart.

I mean if Holiday can get you Lillard, I’m pretty sure Brogdon can get you Holiday.

That’d be awful. Not worth the upgrade from Brogdon. Hauser and Walsh are the kind of cheap deals you need in new CBA.

The only way I’d want Holiday is if he plays the GS Iggy role for us, which I think he can do, but with a bit more scoring.

The salary makes it tough, you either lose Rob (I think we’d keep Al), or trade away all your cheap depth. I’m not even sure the depth route is possible either, I don’t think Svi can be traded until December.

You trade Al. Replace him with Dwight.

Well, Jrue belongs to Portland now, and I doubt the Blazers have the roster spots to take all of the filler that the Celtics would have to give along with Brogdon to make the salaries match.

I think the Celtics can get creative with a 3 team deal.

Celtics get Holiday
3rd team gets $6.2 TPE and draft pick
Portland gets Brogdon, Pritchard, $6.2 million player, Kornet and draft picks

I think that is legal, just don’t know who the $6.2 million player could be. Otto Porter? Nassir Little? Ricky Rubio?

Dont think the Suns would want to get rid of Little after just getting him

Definitely not legal. Can trade for $6.2M player now, wait 60 days (I think) before he can be packaged in a deal.

That would be Brad playing a long hand with that TPE. Brogdon, Pritchard, Kornet I'm OK with, but that deal that had to also include Svi, Walsh and Hauser was too much of a haircut.

Effectively, for win-now, this is Brogdon/Payton for Jrue. With the defense and ball skills Holiday brings to the table, this is a deal to make, even though probably a one year rental.

This season looks to be very top heavy, with several teams making upgrades, and the Celtics will need to keep pace, even after having an excellent off season.
