Maybe the pels will bite a Springer + 2nd/Tillman + 2nd/Kornet + 2nd (I don't know if the apron rules allow it but I can dream). I'll do any of these right now

Springer for Javonte works.

Cs will most likely add a pick for Pels to bite.

While I like Javonte. Isn't Walker more flexible?

Walker will not play because of his defense
Javonte can be the hustle guy on the wing to insert pace and physicality and he will play because of his defense (maybe we will finally have someone to stop the penetration)

Lonnie's problem is defense.
He's been with numerous teams and he just can't seem to find a permanent home.

But he's way better than Javonte on offense.

I'm pleasantly surprised to see that Javonte has become a pretty good 3pt shooter since his time in Boston. And I like the way he was jawing with Tatum last night. I'm sure they have some friendly competition and would make good teammates again.

I thought Pelicans were going to be playoff bound this year, but they've been injury riddles and even when Zion plays he only seems to be able to bring it in spurts.

Green would be welcome back in green as someone that can contribute off the bench on both sides of the court. He's older, a little bigger, and still better at 31 than Springer is now. And Springer could get more run to showcase himself on a team that is certainly lotto bound and may be pulling or trading their main assets in the next month.

Not bad. I'm not sure what else I'd include to sweeten the deal. It looks like the 2025 2nd might be quite high, so would prefer to hold onto that one. More concerned about getting an extra bench player this year that can bring some force, though. The team looks too complacent recently, we could use a guard dog.

Is Javonte available? I recall him being good people.

I wouldn't think the asking price would be very high. Pels are tanking for Flagg and Javonte is a 31 year old journeyman wing on a minimum contract who's only been there for half a season.

They move Javonte and it allows them to play other guys like Ingram, Murphy, Jordan Hawkins, Herb Jones more mins..

Wouldn't shock me at all if he's moved at the deadline to a playoff team for a 2nd rounder..

Isn't it great that we're so great? It's a luxury that the Celtics can look over these arguably overqualified options to fill out the bench or give it a different look.

Lonnie Walker with a stunning sub-.500 TS% on a tanking team. Glad Scheierman is getting his opportunity instead. He's even being played ahead of veteran Torrey Craig. Walker just wouldn't have had the opportunity/minutes to showcase himself on this Celtics team. Stats below since Walker was signed...

Kind of fits his career arc but otoh I’m in favor of keeping this thread going indefinitely, we can keep tabs on his post-playing career and just whatever he’s up to.

We already know how tight Joe's rotation is, even when some key players are injured. So I think Brad approached Joe early on and asked him if he has any use for Lonnie or will the Celtics just be signing a $10M benchwarmer. Once Baylor wins Most Improved Player next season and makes All-NBA 3rd team, I can finally let go of this board's obsession with one Lonnie Walker.

Hope we sign him as 15th man. Bench could use some scoring punch in the playoffs.
