This needs to be said in every page of this thread. Rich Paul is a **** clown. He blamed Dell Demps for AD's trade request going public. New Orleans has changed their entire front office. The new Lakers' offer has been leaked again. The Celtics' offer has not.

Hey, Rich - maybe it's the Lakers who are leaking everything???

Lowe made the point that the prior summer he spent a bunch of time analyzing whether or not the Celtics should include Jaylen in a trade for Kawhi and ultimately argued against it.

He talked about how, even with uncertainty that a player will re-sign, for top 10 guys you just have to take that risk. Guys who look like sure things can fail to pan out or get injured. Team dynamics can change and chemistry can become toxic (as we've seen this year). His points resonated with me and led me to conclude that even with Kyrie it's worth it to trade for AD.

Yup, that is exactly what I've been hammering home this whole time.

You absolutely need a player like him to even have a real chance to win a title in this league. So when you have a chance to get him you take that risk every single damn time. It's not like opportunities like this come around every day. We may never be in this position again for another 40 years.

Lonzo, Jaylen, Ingram, Kuzma, Memphis pick, Knox, Dennis Smith, Smart, #3 and #4 picks. Polling people on how they rank them 1-10 would genuinely be all over the map. Jaylen's especially all over the map and that's even here.

The Dunc’d on guys said the same while simultaneously saying they rank Jaylen above the rest and also rank the Mem pick highly.

Yes, I do.

Ad is soft...a beta....and Lebrons little pet.

Youre not getting the KG you think you are with him. I dont want anyone associated with klutch

This is part of the reason I also want to trade for CP3— make LeBron have to **** over his best friend if he wants to pull more shenanigans.

I'd do that brown trade yesterday. **** I'd give them all the picks and brown.

However, if legal I'd replace brown with rozier. I can't imagine they would have a need for smart on a team going no where any time soon.

But I think it would take both those packages combined just to keep pelicans from hanging the phone up.

I feel like thats gunna happen with an AD trade— were gunna keep Tatum cuz Rich Paul didnt realize that killing his trade value can help the Celtics get him for cheaper.

God thatd be so sweet.

Even if just keeping him to land another superstar

I would legit feel bad if we did Baynes dirty like that, and I'd hope we'd sign that guy to the MLE next season. Lol

You're taking a very emotional approach and your line of thinking is very personal and emotional. I don't operate that way. I don't let my personal feelings get in the way of the ultimate goal.

KD is also a beta. He's also an mvp talent with two NBA championships and I would take that beta on my team any day. Well.........maybe not now but... Yeah.

Also, I don't think I'm getting KG. I think I'm getting AD.

No way baynes opted in just to get traded without Danny telling him first.

But didnt his agent say Boston felt more like home than anywhere hes been? I assume hes not part of these deals

Cs need a clear #2 behind Davis in terms of scoring and getting us buckets in the clutch. Kyrie is most likely gone. Horford really can't be relied upon to create for himself. LOL Rozier. While I think he improves, we don't know how good Hayward is going to be next season. That guy has to be Tatum. It's another reason why you try to hold on to him. You pair him with AD. Build around those two guys if AD extends. Maybe I'm overrating him, but in the right environment and if he stops his Kobe impersonations, he can be a 2a or 2b on a title team.

And then Kevin Pelton ranked Jaylen below Josh friggin Hart in his asset rankings last night. 3 years in and it's still a lot to do with what you felt about him before the draft, I reckon. I have pulled a 180 and would have him right after Tatum. Him and Smart are the guys from that list that you could plop into the Finals right now and the opposing coach doesn't change his strategy to attack them or majorly alter his defensive scheme.

So, if we do get AD, then our squad might look like:

Smart/Brown/Hayward/AD/Horford

or

PG (Rozier)??/Hayward/Morris/AD/Horford

And Kyrie wants to walk away from that?

Mannix says he doesn't think Celtics will include Tatum unless Kyrie commits. Posturing?

I don’t know why he opted in, couldn’t he have gotten another 1+1 for slightly more? Would have avoided being traded too.

One aspect of this I keep forgetting is the nba next year will be a lot more wide open than it has the last few years no matter where KD goes. Only exception to that IMO is if kawhi and Lebron team up (unlikely IMO). The warriors will still be very very good but are beatable and if kawhi stays raptors plus the usual (sixers, rockets, bucks,) but there will be no universal juggernaut of ridiculous proportion.

Is kyrie and jimmy butler unbeatable? Kyrie alone to the nets? kawhi solo to clippers? even kemba and kawhi pair- real good but unbeatable? No.

So much in this AD trade IF They make it hinges on Hayward. If Hayward is 85% of the player he was before (again I’m hopeful but skeptical) he will be great next to Davis. Not to mention horford fits his game seamlessly IMO. It could be really good. A lot of luck involved but that’s sports.

The KD injury Just changes the competitive landscape for the whole nba not just free agency

The first one will mess people up defensively.

Don't care for Rozier really. In your second scenario, you lose all three of Smart/Tatum/Brown?? Pels aren't getting all of that.
