Reggie Jackson actually looked good, maybe I was wrong on him.

If Moe Harkless gets bought out at age 26 I'll be surprised, unless he just really hates the Knicks. But he's also better than Marcus Morris for the role he'd be asked to do in the playoffs, so I dunno why the Clippers made that trade.

Interesting Allen Crabbe agreed to a buyout. What team would have any interest? G League?

Before anyone says anything, Legal Seafoods should be the only crab associated with the Celtics. The crabs that make your balls itch or the Crabbe just cut by the Wolves is not needed on this team.

Was only checking to see if people were yelling for Crabbe.

Happily seeing no Crabbe.

$75million, for 30% from 3 and 71% from free throws.

For roster balance, Javonte Green out and Bender or Bolden in still makes some sense.

Javonte Green out and Tacko in, better.

You are playing a team, call them the Lakers, and when you need a rebound from a free throw you have 6-6 shooting guard there and the Lakers get the ball as A Davis jumps over him.

Tacko available, Tacko is standing there for the rebound.

Is Ugly Bogut a free agent now?

Nikola Mirotic, what is his contract, and is he still playing?

Luigi Datome? If he has the NBA-out, would hit 50% of his threes.

Derrick Williams, he would be like Semi or G Williams, except a tweener who can score.

He's be soo bad for the last few years, but also on really bad teams. I dunno the last time I even saw him play in a game, maybe like 2-3 seasons ago. I feel like he probably just got his money and said **** it. Give a decent 24 year old role player 75 million guaranteed and see how he reacts. If they wanted to sign him in the offseason I'd be fine with it and just trust the scouts, but def wouldn't want to risk it for this season.

About the only good thing you can say about Allen Crabbe is that he's probably not worse than Dragan Bender or Isaiah Thomas.

My question is the whole idea of a player agreeing to a buyout is that he has another home to go to that’s why he is willing to give money back.

What team seriously wants Crabbe? Hopefully not the Celtics.

In his case it makes sense to give a little bit up just for a chance to show he can still play, even if he has no guarantee. Right now he's looking at vet min at best next year, but if he gets lucky and has a strong playoff run on a team, he'll get much better offers.

I'd actually take Tolliver. Just for the reason that no one else that plays the Celtics in the playoffs can get him. He always seems to show up against the Cs.

Anyone more reliable/capable on switch/help defense than our cadre of rooks, I will take. Langford gave up two and-1s and Grant couldn't stay in front of Russ. Opposing teams will hunt for the weakest link on D in the playoffs. The less defensive liabilities you have on the playoff rotation, the better.

I actually think that crabbe, in a specific role, can be effective.

Not sure this team can give him that role though

We can still sign overseas players after March 1st and they can be playoff eligible.

Take anyone at this point who could score over four points off the bench, the rooks/Semi just are to timid offensively at this point.

You have a point. I hope brad can find time to give Edwards and waters one more stint of a few games with some real minutes. If either of them can get hot it would be great for us playoffs

No one in the buyout market is as good as the Celtics rookies or Time Lord. No one. And it's not particularly close. Kanter couldn't get into the game against the Rockets. What buyout candidate would be better than Kanter?

Enough already.

Edwards and Romeo are garbage. Danny continues to whiff in the draft. The best player from that draft is Waters and he continues to be wasted in the G League. Romeo is the second coming of James Young - and overrated player who was mediocre at both shooting and defense in their freshman years.

As for Kanter, for most of the season, he was the best player behind JT in "Team +/-" according to NBA.com stats. He's not been the same since coming back from his injury. Meanwhile his current +/- is still higher than that of Theis.

Kanter On Court: +4.1
Theis On Court: +3.4

Kanter on the bench: +3.6
Theis on the bench: +3.8

Kanter Net: +0.5
Theis Net: -0.4

Gotta disagree on Romeo. His defense, by any metric has been solid, and even exceptional for a rookie and given some of the matchups he has been assigned.

Plus, he is almost always in the right place, situationally aware, and he moves like an NBA player.

James Young always looked lost and confused and never showed the ability to play any defense whatsoever.

Now, I still think Romeo needs to improve his shot to be an impact player, but that comparison is way off IMO.

If your other implication is that Kanter is better than Theis....well...gotta disagree on that too. Kanter feeds on second units and advantageous matchups in a high usage/low min role.

Don't get me wrong, I do think that, pre-injury, Kanter has been the best version of himself and a good pickup who clearly helps our team.

But Theis is just more versatile and does so many little things.

G Williams, R Williams, Langford, Waters, Fall, Edwards are not garbage. They are just very young players.
