I had us at 45 as well. But even looking beyond that, adding Tatum to this group has me kind of emotionally erect. Being who Tatum is makes every player around him better obviously. The wings will have more closeouts to drive. More open looks. The bigs will have more open rolls to the rim. For Garza, more opportunities to pop for a wide open 3. I think about a guy like Garza and his limitations defensively. Does he get that much easier to hide with a healthy Tatum next to him? If you surround Garza with JT, Hugo, JB and DWhite how much easier is it to hide him for 5-7 min a half and let him do the things that he actually does do well like screen, crash the glass and give the team extra opportunities. I think I might like to see him in the dunker spot even a little more. Bottomline we can make a serious run this year and for a while after this.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

100%

That's why I never believed the tanking talk.

What's even better is JB is playing at an MVP level.

JT can return without any pressure to carry the team.

Don't have to imagine. Just read any message on this forum and there's a 50/50 chance it's someone being mad that the Celtics won't punt an entire year and light the winning culture of the organization on fire to be able to draft James Wiseman 2.0.

Just curious, who's Wiseman 2.0?

Dybantsa (with his dad) had interviews in French media that made it pretty clear that he is playing basketball because he is 6'9 and athletic and pushed into it by his father rather than because he loves the game and is driven to succeed. If he goes to the wrong organization this is not going to end the way people think it will.

AJ Is also being told to take breaks from his training because he is an animal at it. He was forced to go on vacation at one point.

I don't root for people to fail so I hope I'm wrong and to be fair I think he'll be closer to Wiggins than Wiseman. But it's never a good sign when I know who the parents are before the guy is even drafted (Ball brothers, Ja Morant...). You just know that's going to be a headache down the road. Can't say that his motor or attitude was particularly impressive when I saw him play France in FIBA (and whatever it's one game and we can all have bad days).

Do you have a link to these interviews?
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

We are starting to see pieces emerge for our next run. No disrespect to Jrue, but if I squint, guys like Hugo and Walsh are starting to fill the intangible gap.

How is this happening? Are they still taking a ton of threes? Is this inflated or real?

We should be getting Cs/Pistons or Cs/Sixers today.

zoyathedestroya: "How is this happening? Are they still taking a ton of threes? Is this inflated or real?"

Maybe this is why:

Hoops Habit: "Now 29 games in, Boston finds themselves as the third seed in the East with an 18-11 record, and have been one of the best teams in the league during the month of December. They have the NBA’s best offensive rating this month (124.5), and their +12.0 net rating is only second to Oklahoma City."

Brian Windhorst via YouTube:

"I understand [Edit: about the Pistons]. But again, this is a February 1st situation where you can say whatever you want to say. When you sit down with your organization, your owner, your scouts, and your personnel people, and you look at things, and you go, 'Okay, on February 1st: Do we have a chance to win this thing?' And even if it's just winning the Eastern Conference. That's where the rubber meets the road. Forget about the actual trade that they might make for this team. And the Celtics fall into this bucket, too. The most important evaluation they can make is their own team's chances."

Timing sounds right. Cs should have a better feel about JT at that time, too.

Hey our very own Drew Carter is commenting the animated “Dunk the Halls” version of the Knicks/Cavs game. Pretty cool
156-1 Celtics are frauds when pressure is put on them. They would have been toast if Luka was not stupid enough to foul himself out. Enjoy this ONE finals win. There will never be another with the Js and the Celtics cant afford stacked team.
To be fair, I believe there are only 3 players that played for the Celtics when they were 20 years old or younger.

It's Tatum, Walsh, and Hugo.

Haven't looked at it too hard, Don't think the 3 point shooting is down a staggering amount. Suspect their offensive rebounding rate and lack of turnovers is doing this. Along with a more evenly spread out shot chart I suspect.

edit:
Well it is a bit weird
https://www.nba.com/stats/teams/traditional?Month=3&PerMode=Per100Possessions&dir=A&sort=FG3A

Middle of the pack turn overs and offensive rebounds per 100 poss. BUt near the top for FGA and top for FGM, FG3A, FG3M per 100 possession. So not quite sure how they are near the top of FGA and being accurate enough to lead in FGM.
