Bring back both Rob and KP after the season. Two million each. They each play 12 games. Instant championship.

Nurk is slow, but he's playing well this season.
Yeah he seems ok. A big body who can help on the boards. Not a dud at all but probably not a long term fixture. Is he worth sending a second with Simons. He can fit in the Zinger TPE so can actually make a new TPE equal to Simons salary as well.
Extending the TPE is appealing but I'd rather spend our picks on someone who will be here for more than half a year. Pels 2nd is looking nice... currently 33.... and the Bucks currently sits at 40 and they could ship Giannis out so that one could move up as well. I wouldn't want to send either of those picks out for a Nurkic rental. If the Celtics had their own 2nd to trade I would be happy to send that out.
Yeah those are good points. Those picks are pretty good in a good draft.
Jordan Walsh goes top 10 in a 2023 redraft.

That trade doesn't work.
You should run it through the trade machine first.
worked for me.

Boston should seriously target Bobby Portis. He fills a real need as a physical, playoff-proven frontcourt piece who can play both PF and small-ball 5, rebound, and score without needing touches. He’s durable, brings edge and energy, which would fit well with this roster and next to Tatum/Brown lineups. Just as important, at $13m (plus 2yrs at $14m/$15m) his contract is especially valuable under the new CBA and the Celtic's two super max's

In a season where Jaylen Brown is playing at an MVP level?
I'm going 3 for 3 in my predictions this season.
1. I said Simons will end up playing for the Celtics instead of getting traded before the season started.
2. Jayson Tatum will return and it's looking like it's going to happen.
3. Brad will make a move on or before trade deadline to upgrade the roster.
I already got #1.
Let's see if #2 and #3 will go my way.
To be fair, JB's on/off rating is only a +1.2 so saying he's playing at an MVP level is likely homerism/hyperbole..
?s=20
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

The guy doesn't pass, his defense is terrible. He's incredibly streaky, to the point that if he's off, he will actively hurt the team. Bucks lineups with him at center have absolutely tanked in the last few years.
Again, any idea of a center who doesn't play defense or pass very well in this offense is a non-starter.

Portis is a nasty, unpleasant human being who once punched out a teammate in practice and who is near the top of the league in flagrant fouls and ejections.
In short, he's exactly the kind of player the Celtics need. Durocher's dictum.

In a multi-decade managing career, Durocher won one World Series -- and that was with a team he'd very recently joined.

But he won 3 WS as a player and 3 NL pennants as a manager.

Yes, Portis has defensive and playmaking limitations, that’s fair. He’s not a switch-everything center or a hub passer. But that doesn’t make him unplayable or a bad fit.
He’s a proven role scorer, strong rebounder, intense competitor and a legitimate stretch frontcourt player to pull bigs out of the paint, which is something the Celtics currently lack. Combined with his team-friendly contract under the new CBA and his lower price tag to acquire, he’s valuable as a complementary rotation piece, not a centerpiece — and that’s exactly the type of player Boston has to target given two supermaxes and apron constraints.

sign me up, he'd add some much needed toughness to a group that's limited/soft down low. Playoff basketball is a different intensity, I'm guessing Brad and CO. will most def upgrade this scrappy group, and the finished product will be strong!

Why wait?
Simons and two boston 2nds to Brooklyn
Mann and one Boston 2nd to Portland
Rob Williams to Boston
Get out of Simons for 3 seconds, get financial savings, Rob Williams can be the backup center when healthy and potentially be resigned for a lot less money giving injury concerns. Maybe dump Tillman or Boucher too with 3 2nds going out.

Unfortunately I think this was a post made in jest.
It is, however, a plan I would 100% support.
