Nate McMillan and Rick Carlisle are both super qualified but i think Carlisle is going to the pacers and Atlanta will probably re-sign McMillan. I like Billups but the alleged SA bothers me if true. I think Udoka probably gets it

Count me out on RC, he is obviously a great coach but there's enough rumors about him being too controlling, maybe making Dallas a non-destination for free agents, butting heads with players etc. to scare me off. I'll readily acknowledge that it might just be a narrative but it's not the kind of gamble I want to take with Tatum in particular, I want him happy to be a Celtic for life or until we need to pile some dynamite under this thing and start over.

I think we will know our next coach within 2-4 weeks. 4 weeks would put us about 10 days before the draft. But at this point it’s looking like the draft won’t matter much unless we make a draft to get back into the first round.

Has Cassell even been interviewed yet? Can Kara been interviewed?

The reports are Billups, Udoka and Ham are getting in for a 2nd interview.

Is there someone who hasn’t been linked to us yet and might get the job?

Reading about these rape accusations against Billups makes me think he shouldn’t even be considered. I never knew all this stuff. Is it true that this is why he was traded from Boston? If he pissed off Walker, it makes sense why they shipped him out 3 months later.

If Stevens does anything right, it will be picking his successor. I'm not wasting any gray matter on this topic.

They're clearly not announcing any interviews with Kara. FWIW Scal said he still is guessing it will ultimately be her and he has heard that she hasn't given any guarantees to her Duke recruits that she wouldn't take the job. I'm thinking they'll still likely ultimately go with Ime Udoka, however, as he fits the profile, comes from the Pop tree and apparently made at least a positive impression on the Jays with the USA team last year.

Like I said before, I'd be pretty shocked if it's not Udoka

There was Kobe too. The NBA seems to have a one-free-sexual-assault policy if it's a good enough player involved.

If it's true. I never bought the Kobe stuff being legit.

Obviously, I don't think there is any absolute public record as to why he was traded. Ron Mercer was also accused and settled, Antoine settled as an accessory I believe, and those guys obviously stuck around. It's hypothetically possible that Billups was traded because he was willing to provide testimony that incriminated his teammates. It wasn't a good time in Celtics history.

if he does become our next coach(he's my preference) we should call his defensive scheme the IUD.

Seems like its Udoka. Honestly wanted Cassell because of his Celtics ties. But all good

I always doubted Cassell because of his 2008 Celtics ties. Not what I imagine Brad wants.

They better be deciding sooner rather than later. This can’t keep dragging on for long.

Yeah definitely hate having people in an organization that's won before.
