The Celtics, who are the favorites to win the NBA title this season, now have almost their entire core under contract for next year. The lone exception is forward Grant Williams, who was unable to agree on an extension before the October deadline and will become a restricted free agent in the summer.

League sources have said the Celtics plan to keep Williams in the fold, and if the sides are unable to reach a deal, the team would likely match any offer sheet that Williams signs with another team anyway.

I don’t think THT gets drafted lol. He’s awful.
No way RJ goes that high.

So what you’re saying is Grant should have been drafted top 10? :)

I think Cam Johnson is quite a bit better but Grant does indeed have a case for top 10 in that draft. It wasn't a very good draft, though.

Looks like the Heat are ready to save us from overpaying Grant. Maybe they give us Bam?

Sure sounds like tampering is underway.

While it may be impossible for any player to stay consistent in this sport, some are better than others. With that said I hope Grant can become a bit more consistent since it seems like we are so much better when he is on than off.

my one complaint is that while No one should be b*tching to the refs, at least with the Superstars (Doncic-Tatum etc..) it is somewhat understandable. But Grant shouldn't.. And when he does it seems like it throws him off his game far more than not..

Just my opinion.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

I actually wouldn't mind if Grant continued to struggle a little bit more until we get Rob back. The way he was playing it looked like someone would try to offer him a deal over his actual value. Does anyone know when the next TV deal is? I'm sitting right now at 14M-15M/4y. I think he shouldn't be worth more than that.
Robert Horry is better than MJ, because everybody knows that 7>6.

Another very good game for Grant last night vs the Suns.

Really hope we get the extension done for him.

4 years, somewhere in the $14-$16 mil range. Maybe allow him to earn even more than that with incentives.

Grant is a great fit for this team, on the court and off. And he is still getting better!

Williams is a must resign and it will be a failure for Stevens if he ends up anywhere else.

Man the free agent crop next year looks BAD. Bunch of high ticket dudes that are like the ugly fruit bin at the market covered in warts. Porzingis, Irving, Harden, Vucevic, Van Vleet, etc etc.

Some dudes are going to get big time overpaid.

I'm down with this... $14M base with high-bar performance & consistency bonuses that tops out to as much as $18M if he checks all the boxes.

Grant is the ultimate chess piece, can play any position effectively and is the physical presence you need in crunch time of a playoff game. He's not going anywhere.

That does it. It's official. We riot if Grant doesn't get resigned.

He is just too good for team chemistry/camaraderie, especially with how chummy he is with Tatum. We can't afford to lose him!

Also making 82.6% of his attempts within 3 feet of the rim. Not bad for our undersized forward.

At this point I’m guessing Grant had an extension on the table to sign, grabbed the pen, and pump faked.
