Any interest in Draymond? Not sure how it would happen but he seems like someone that might help this team. Plays defense and brings an edge.

Isn't he going to opt out and be a UFA?

He just said he likes the Celtics losing cos he enjoys seeing Cs fans suffer. So might not be a good fit.

Re: Trade Thread Tread pt.2 2023-24 - (Off-season)
Man I want to see how Tatum would look like playing with a decent offensive big for once in his career. Someone who could relieve some scoring pressure with high percentage shots or whom Tatum could feed the ball down to or bail him out during drives. Unfortunately, I think Brad is too personally attached to Horford and Rob to make any real changes in the frontcourt.

Well it's the trade thread so if you have some realistic ideas for getting an offensive big, you might as well post them.
Off the top of my head, I can think of
Jokic
Embiid
Sabonis
Brook Lopez
Giannis
AD
KAT
Vucevic?
Turner?
Ayton?
Then decent offensive Big-like players
Bam
Siakam
Randle
Zion
Then it's a bunch of guys who can do some things on offense but not very reliable or guys who masquerade at 4 but aren't really.

Jaylen for Towns or Siakam. Heck I'd do Jaylen for Ayton (addition by subtraction). I like Vucevic too but he's an FA.

Minnesota is trading Towns for a guy on an expiring contract who is going to want to hit FA to get his max deal?

Forgot Ayton. I guess he's decent though not good.

Just need a bit more dynamic-ness in the front court. Not sure who else fits the bill, tough to find the right fit.
DeRozen is a bad off ball player. Don’t want him here unless Brown is traded. I do not think a DeRozen/Brown/Tatum trio is complimentary at all. And definitely a bad idea to oaky Smart or even White with that pairing.
If DeRozen is coming in Brogdon is by far the most important of our guards to keep because the spacing is putrid.
So we want more on-ball time for Jaylen, and even Jayson? I can't guarantee this works, and I'd rather have a more balanced offense/defense guy, but not sure that is a valid criticism.
But what good does it do to take Tatum and Brown off the ball just so DeRozen can run the same type of plays we want less of Tatum/Brown? And neither of them are good off ball players themselves so now we’re running the same kind of ISO plays just replacing probably our best off ball offensive player (Brogdon) with bad off ball players.

Who knows? Minnesota could be desperate and might be willing to take that risk. A wing like Jaylen would definitely be a better fit in their current roster than Towns (alongside Gobert).

On offense, he could be sort of like Bam with his combination of midrange and post scoring. He's not gonna be Rob on defense but he's 7'0/250 that could block shots. And he's not gonna hurt your offense by turning the ball over and he's not gonna be taking the ball off Tatum. I'm so low with Jaylen right now that there's probably one deal from every single team in the NBA right now that I'd do for him.

If you't trading Jaylen, it has to be for something good. The only trade I'd maybe do that's possible right now is Simons and 3. Outside of that, no realistic trade intrigues me, because Dame isn't asking out and neither is Embiid.
Also, I doubt Jaylen wants to stay in Portland, so I don't think they offer 3 and Simons.
For Smart, again, what are you getting? Would have to be filling a need, like for a legit big. Same with Derrick White, who I REALLY don't want to move.
Would rather move Al than Rob at this point personally but I understand if people would rather move Rob.
The obvious guy to move to me is Brogdon. I think there'll be options to replace a guy like him this offseason and I don't think he fit as well as people like to act like he did
I don’t think they will trade jaylen at all. For me, Tatum and White should be untouchable. Smart, Rob and brogdon are the guys that can be traded that will get you a decent return. Al should finish his career here, but must come off the bench next season. If gallo is healthy, then that’s 4 players that can start. White, brown, Tatum and Gallo. We need a decent legit big man. If they can find a deal for brown, i would rather move him as well for a much better fit.
Gallo ain't starting. C'mon now.
He wasn't even starting for an 8 seed Hawks team 2 yrs ago and that was before missing an entire season with his 2nd ACL surgery.
We'll be lucky if he can give us 15-20 mins off the bench next season.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

Yeah if Gallo is staring this team is in major trouble. He was not a good defender before his injury, missed a year and he will be 35 when next season starts. He could very well be completely unplayable next year if we are being honest.

Brogdon, R Williams and a draft pick for Ayton. The Celtics would at least solve their we can't do anything with the zone defense issue because Ayton can at least hit the mid range shot.

Thinking this over for a few days... I think mid-season next year is probably a better time for deals. I think they resign Grant Williams and use him and Brogdon to get a singular better player. Trade those two with picks for Jerami Grant once he's resigned and it's again apparent Portland isn't going anywhere significant.
I think that keeps the core of the team that's worked together, but adds more size and offensive capability to the front court.

Celts were already soft in these playoffs. Ayton would only add to that softness

How close is this.
Bulls get
Brogdon and future boston 1st
Portland get
Demar Derozan and Pick #23
Celtics get Simons
Follow Up
Smart to Houston
for
Eason, Kenyon Martin Jr and pick (as for #4, accept #20)
Final Roster
Simons/Pritchard/Davidson
Brown/White/Begarin
Tatum/Martin Jr/Hauser
Eason/Gallo/Kabengele
Timelord/Horford/Kornet
Plus a pick to toss in for good easure (hopefully number 4 but probably number 20)
Shooting greatly improved, not have a PG who can get inside, pass, handle and make 3 pointers at a HIGH level
Eason defends and makes outside shots
Martin upgrades backup SF spot.
Still have salary to make deals around the edges

I'd much rather go after one of Cleveland's or Atlanta's bigs. Brogdon for Capela makes sense for both teams. The Hawks have Okongwu ready to step into a starting role and Brogdon is from Atlanta.
I would also move Brown for Jarrett Allen and Okoro. I think Okoro is ready to break out and I'd let him fight with Begarin for minutes at the wing. Maybe Cleveland sweetens the deal with a first round pick.

I'm not sold on doing much of anything. Just frustration posting
