Patience and a long term view. The Celtics will be better next year. Then next year in the year of the free agent watch the value of the assets. Still believe.

Say what you want about mel kipper but atleast he brings enthusiasm to the draft.

Sometimes I feel like these guys don't even know the players being drafted. Mel kiper would be like WHAT THE F is THIS **** on a pick he thought was atrocious

You can tell who the real Celtics fans are, and the fake Celtics fans are on nights like tonight.

Yeah we all know you think so. Every single one of your posts says the same thing.

Well, when you have so many tools arguing otherwise all year, proclaiming themselves basketball geniuses, it's easy to gloat about what anyone with half a brain could have foreseen. Deal with it.

Cool, man. You're talking about one guy.

I hope you're having fun gloating about us not picking Winslow or whatever you're gloating about. Kind of sad, but have at it.

The strategy not to tank was stupid and you can't expect to fleece GMs. The league has widened up.

Instead ppl like humble will be talking about Smart getting experience when Ainge was willing to flip him for Okafor.

Why not frigging tank then.

We had a chance and we blew it and when this savant coach can't savant his way past the first round the same ppl will be bawling away.

Lesson learnt. You use the system instead of arguing it's morality.

Frame this.

I say we let the adults drive the car next time.

Maybe the pollyanna homer crew can get sequestered into their own thread this year and stop derailing all our threads with naive, unrealistic nonsense.

Please. If we tank we have not shot at an established player and no one wants to play for us.

We will be better than the 76ers next year, and the next year and the next year.

If Hinkie turns that roster into a playoff team that is fun to watch, I will say I am wrong.

But, their roster is still terrible.

No one wants to play for us? You REALLY think that if we had say Okafor and he's a stud that no one would want to play for us in the future because we tanked one year?? Maybe tanking isn't feasible given our roster was clearly better than that, that's a valid point, but yours really isn't.

I love this team. We win finals. We don't settle for this stuff.

This is sports. Sometimes things are a buzzkill. No reason to pretend this doesn't **** suck.

I'm pessimistic as hell and still somehow livid as hell right now. Idk

But Danny has "all these assets"

If he's better than whoever we pick then yes, I will still be mad that we didn't get the superior player. Why wouldn't I be? If we're holding down the 5th seed with a player worse than Justise, how is it not better to be in that spot WITH Justise?

Ryan wastes no time in Phoenix with that pick.

Maybe the nets pick will be good next year but the assets the celtics have suck. They don't have any great young prospects and their draft picks, while plentiful, are about as exciting as eating ice cubes for desert.

I am not even mad or surprised because 99% of rumors that end up on here never happen. Maybe ainge will trade a pick but this night is going down exactly as I said it would.

He's going to parlay this into a win for himself.

"Danny didn't think there was anybody worth trading up for"

I can see it now.
