There are a number of teams I think he would opt in early for.

There are also a number of teams that I am sure would pick on our behalf only to trade that pick later to us. (would require some sort of compensation for doing so).

I firmly believe, since the pandemic starting, that almost all of the players with options will be picking them up. Too much uncertainty out there, especially for someone with a contact like Gordon, Conley, Batum, Derozan, Porter Jr, JJ, Drummond.

Any of the big contract.

If that was my choice I would take the $34 million and 1 more year of a chance to win a championship and adjust in a year

I never suggested either of those teams. My point was generic: It is possible to trade Hayward before the draft.

Drummond to me is worth the tax payer mid level for SOME teams. He stinks.

I have seen something similar to this bandied about on the interweb so what do people think of something like:

Gordon Harward and Carsen Edwards, maybe a pick (Celtics own 1st)

to San Antonio for

LaMarcus Aldridge and Lonnie Walker?

Aldridge seems to want out of SAS, He definitely improves the 5 spot. Only question is, is he finally willing to not be the guy.

Offensively he’d be good because he would space the floor for us but defensively he’d be a nightmare.

Guys, I'd be beyond stunned if we got Drummond. If Danny really wanted him, he could've gotten him at the deadline, when he was literally traded for nothing.

The Celtics have probably never wanted him.

I hope youre right, but the consistency of the rumors from a lot of different sources has me worried. I told myself I wouldnt deny media reports just cuz I disagreed with them after Kyrie and this has me officially spooked.

If we were going to trade for an overpaid big, would much prefer Adams to Drummond. Adams plays like Smart; hard to verbalize it but he’s always willing to do the little things to hep the team win. He makes winning plays, if you will.

Nothing is ever 100% in the NBA, but we've heard Drummond rumors before and it's never happened. It's probably Drummond's agent blowing smoke. Remember the Melo rumors from a few years ago?

Yea, I agree. Think it’s someone connecting dots from deadline.

Drummond and Kemba share agents (Jeff Schwartz and Javon Phillips). This is just probably the Celtics doing the agent a solid by letting "our interest" raise Andre's value. Most likely, the Cavs are lowballing him with the extension talks, as they should. Ainge has had a good relationship with Schwartz dating back to Paul Pierce. Drummond is the new Kevin Love, also represented by Schwartz.

Spoiler:
Coincidentally both guys were picked 9th in back-to-back years from UConn, which is in New England. If you combine both guys' draft spot -- 9+9=18. You know what that means... We HAVE to trade for Drummond.

Spoiler:
I can do this all day.

10 teams are inquiring with the Pels about Holiday. Are we one of them?

As I said earlier in this thread, LaMarcus Aldridge is 35 years old and just had shoulder surgery. He's damaged goods.

As for Drummond, maybe he stinks but he kills the Celtics every time we play Detroit. The question is, what comes along with him? If it's Cedi Osman and one of their young point guards, sign me up.

Playing around with 3 team deals involving the spurs with Derozan.

Hayward (opt in to play with pop, or dealt after draft), #7 to the Spurs (out: Murray, Gay, Keldon Johnson)
Spurs add a top 10 pick to pair with #11 to move up high. Shed long term salary. Creates a TPE for them.
White
Walker
Hayward
Aldridge
Poeltl

Demar Derozan, Vincent Poirier, Carson Edwards #26 to Detroit (out: #7)
Detroit uses capspace and #7 to add an allstar wing. Instantly improves team, They resign Wood and get players healthy they can make playoffs.

Rose
Demar
Snell
Griffin
Wood

Gay, Johnson, Murray to Boston (Hayward, Edwards, Poirier, #26)
Boston adds a vet off the bench and adds a couple of young players with potential. Shed 8 mill in salary.

Kemba/Murray
Smart/Romeo
Brown/Johnson
Tatum/Gay/GrantW
Theis/Timelord

Keldon johnson has the potential to be a starter very soon. Very solid player. Murray might take the next step and will Allow for team to rest Kemba alot,

Maybe boston needs to include 14 pick somewhere?
