I was gifted tickets to a Guns and Roses concert this past weekend.

Wasnt expecting much with everything I heard about Axl Rose's ability at his age, but he killed it. Obviously not as good as his prime, but made smart changes to compensate and worked the crowd like a PRO.

Slash and Duff kicked ass.

Great **** show.

I've been listening to them some since the discussions in this thread. I don't know why but I always just assumed they were a metal or screamo band and not an actual rock band so never checked them out before. I've definitely got some catching up to do.

Yeah they're a little more nuanced than that lol.

Other artists that may interest you:

Them Crooked Vultures

Desert Sessions

Been binging Apple TV series lately. Blackbird (I already mentioned above) was great, Severance was CRAZY (and great), and now I'm on Foundation which I'm really enjoying. Also watched Silo before all those which I liked. The worst part is that none of these (except Foundation) have a second season. Apple is really knocking it out of the park with their originals IMO.

Yeah Apple has a ton of top tier shows. For All Mankind is excellent too.

I’m not rich either and have always heard people get rich by not spending money on things like that lol. Just curious though who would you spend the most to see in concert?

Alive? Patti Labelle. I have loved her from a really young age, but I'm telling you now, I'm not paying 4k! I'm not a hater tho so congrats to the people who can do it. Dead? Whitney (Mike, Prince, Luther, Pac, Aretha, Ray, and probably 20 others right behind).

I said I need to be rich, I'm not spending it before, and rich people buy the dumbest ish imaginable! :D

Seeing Beethoven come back to conduct his 9th Symphony. Yeah, that's a 4K concert.

Slow Horses is decent as well, pretty good adaptation of the book. It has Gary Oldman which is usually enough said for me.

Just binged "Painkiller" last night on Netflix. Pretty crazy stuff. It's about the opioid crisis started by Oxycontin.

If you liked it, check out Dopesick on Hulu. It tells the same story but it is much better. Michael Keaton is outstanding as well.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

I really liked For All Mankind too which was created by the same guy who did Star Trek Next generation, Battlestar Galactica and Outlander.

I actually watched that, and it was awesome. I love Michael Keaton.

Just got done taking the boss's 1965 Corvette Sting Ray out for the afternoon. What a beautiful and fun car out on the road! He's the 3rd and 8th owner of the vehicle that has only 60,000 original miles on it.

I absolutely LOVE vintage cars, especially from the sixties. That thing does look like fun (and so well cared for).

Funny you invoke the name of the diabolical Biz I was at a Hip-Hop at 50 concert the other night in VA where Rakim told a story about helping Biz put out his first album. Helped ghostwrite some of his stuff back in 88 and in '89 Biz Markie released The Biz Never Sleeps, the album that truly put him on the national stage headlined of course by "Just A Friend". Biz promised to put Rakim on after he blew up and he kept his word. Rakim said he doesn't have a career if not for Biz. It was a great concert. Roxanne Shante, Big Daddy Kane, KRS-1, Doug E. Fresh (with surprise guest, the incomparable Slick Rick the Ruler) were also there. Transcendent.

KRS-ONE is either my 1a or 1b favorite rapper of all time so that alone makes it sound like that was an amazing show.

Not to hijack this thread because I know generally I would've put stuff like this in the OT thread but it was legend bro. Everyone was good but the energy notably shifted with KRS-1 and then later Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick came on the stage. If you're of a certain age then you know who these men are and what they have meant to hip-hop. Had the party live from the moment they hit the stage.

Moving here so we don’t hijack the other thread lol. I’m guessing I’m too far from the East Coast but I’m going to have to check and see if any of that is making it this way. I’ve never seen KRS in concert, and truth be told I didn’t even know Slick Rick was able to come back into the US lol.
