Tatum is maybe the 2nd best player...maybe Porzingis if not injured is really the number two.

I wrote before last season that i thought Brown was the better player, at least offensively. Brown might actually play a role with team USA.

Double double with good defense while other guys take turns having bad shooting nights (ahem Steph, Book, Ant) but consistently play trash defense. This team isn’t lacking shooting. It’s lacking defense and rebounding. Two strengths of JT.

What a weird world where Yabu is almost certainly going to have more minutes, points, boards, 3’s and assists than JT in Olympic gold medal match. On a team with Gobert and Wemby nonetheless. Sadly, Fournier could top him at least a few of those categories too. Yeah it’s not all about the counting stats, but still I wouldn’t haven’t guessed any of that coming into the Olympic season.

JT is not playing because he lost his shot. It’s that simple. The bench already has two non shooter's (AD/Bam), it’s hard to justify a third. It’s really quite simple. If JT was confidently shooting he would be playing.

No need to attack other players and deflect blame. Do you really think it’s smart to play 3 non shooters off the bench?

He has brought absolutely nothing to the team except some games he finishes plays with a bucket… you know like every single even borderline All-star NBA player can do when facing single coverage or maybe even just plain wide open because of his teammates. No defense, no play making, little rebounding, doesn’t play fast paced like they do when blowing teams out, not even a great nickname to help the announcers out with. I like him as an NBA player but he’s not a guy who should have guaranteed minutes on this team, let alone a guaranteed starting wing spot and crunch time minutes when we need a defensive stop is just asinine.

Thanks for the insight. So why did Kerr select him for the team? Didn't he watch the Finals?

Maybe he thought the poor shooting was a fluke in the playoffs and he would return closer to career averages? Then Tatum comes late to camp and doesn’t earn a spot in practice and during games.

One year ago, all Celtic fans could talk about was getting back to the finals and winning Banner 18.

Kerr's disrespect for Tatum is very clear.

Time to move on and focus on Banner 19.

JT and JB will once again get the last laugh when Kerr, Steph, Lebron, and KD will be at home watching the Jays playing in May and June of 2025.
