I'd be so mad if we're a sun fan for being this close to blowing it.

I'm not though so hopefully this continues.

Nice Phoenix. One more win would do it you'd think!

Not paying close attention huh?

Suns win tonight, puts Brooklyn solely in 3rd best lotto odds.

Lol, ya I just saw that on tankathon.

Honestly I thought the Suns had played 1 less game than the nets, this is awesome news.

Suns will win 1 more game and Nets won't win another. If I wasn't annoyed with the Celtics losing tonight would be a good night. I'll feel better about it in the morning

If we had to choose between the Suns winning and the Celtics winning, I think most of us would have been happy with the result.

Suns fan here - Who do you guys think you take at 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5? I guess what would you guess Ainge's big board is for the top 5? My guess is, either someone leaps us both, or one of us leap into the top two.

But if somehow everything holds which is rare, who would you take at 3?

I think most Suns fans rank it:

Ingram
Simmons
Here there is a huge range...it was Bender, but some love Hield and others like Brown or Dunn.

So that those last four are kind of a random order of 3-6 for whichever Suns fan you talk to....so even though Suns fans have been upset at us winning these last two, 3-6 might not be that big of a deal. Many are really scared to take Bender due to raw-ness and huge bust potential.

Even though I think it is improbable we both hold down 3 and 4 in the lottery, I'm wondering if we did, do you think Ainge would take someone like Murray or Hield over Bender? Since you are close to really competing it seems like that might make more sense, and I think I noticed before that you are not among the best or even top half of 3 pt shooting teams.

I think Ainge's #1 choice would be to trade it for an established player, but if not then I'd imagine Bender is probably 3rd on the list although he typically doesn't draft any foreign players. Our bigs right now are garbage so he makes the most sense.

Brutal win for you guys. Sorry.

Ironically, 5th overall is the most likely slot for both of our teams.

For me...

Simmons
Ingram
Dunn
Bender
Hield
Jaylen

And by that, I mean trade the pick.

You think he'd trade it for established player even if it's 1 or 2? I guess the answer would depend on which player. Love for example. Would he trade 1 or 2 for Love? I imagine it would have to be a 3 way or something as Cleveland has a limited window and will want players more than picks as well. What players you think Ainge would target?

I think he'd still trade it at 1 or 2 but not for Love. It all depends on whose available this offseason, no idea who will be available this offseason but we shall see. I'm sure he'll be monitoring the Butler and Cousins situations.

Butler is looking likely with all the chaos in Chicago at the moment. Cousins. Love(I hope Ainge has moved on from him though).

I agree. Even if he got the #1 overall pick, Ainge's first option is to package it in a trade for an established star (Love, Griffin, Cousins, Butler).

The problem is, we have 2 first rounders who spend the entire year in the D-league. And we have 8 picks next draft.

We've gone far beyond the depreciating utility of draft pick points. We're at the point where we need to dump the picks... or we'll watch them have 0 impact on our team and rot in the Dleague till they leave for pennies in free agency and possibly bloom with opportunity for their next team.

As for the Celtics team overall, if it's not 1 or 2 in the draft, we have a deep SG position. And Solid PG/SF position on our roster. So ideally not in those areas would we pick a top 5 guy.

So we could slide Crowder to the 4 spot and play small ball. So just based on team needs, I'd say it would go Ingram, Simmons, Bender, Jaylen Brown.

Would likely look to trade - Okafor for BRK pick (Dunn?) might make sense for both Celts and Philly
