thought this might be good for a discussion here:

ESPN Brian Windhorst brought up the topic on his True Hoop podcast that he bets the Wolves will only keep one of the two swingman, Wiggins or LaVine, and suggested this trade

Celtics send Jae Crowder & first round pick to Wolves for Lavine and B Rush.

Wolves get 3-D vet who has 3 years remaining with 7mil per season. Lockdown defender, VET at 26 years old, has playoff experience, and shoots 42% from 3. Wolves also receive one of Boston's first round picks. [edit - let's assume he didn't mean BRK pick]

Boston gets their future SG to take over Bradley's spot because he's a FA after next season. Celtics also get to start Jaylen Brown at the 3

Who says No?

seems like a both say no situation...unless its a Brooklyn pick and then the Cs say hell no. Lavine is a great prospect but he is not yet to the place where he can help you win.

Depends if you think AB could be a full time 3 for the next few seasons. Boston's owned 18 pick is probably going to slot in around 26-28. LaVine is a dynamic scoring guard.

Team should be looking at deals like this or for Vuc, Noel, Okafor, Bogut etc...

Lavine for Crowder only makes sense if Lavine is swung to a 3rd team. Boston has plenty of guards.

But they're all the same type of guards other than IT. Boston needs a scorer regardless of it being a guard or big. 17-20 PPG would be a huge boost to this team.

How does Noel for Avery look? With Simmons poised to handle the ball, they really need someone who can defend the opposing point guard and a dependable 3 point shooter who doesn't need the ball in his hands. Avery seems like the perfect fit.

Looking at Noel's strengths, I fully expect him to the be a good pairing with Horford. Noel likely costs less to sign next year than Avery will 2 years from now and this this trade gets our roster more in balance before the draft so we can focus on best player available.

What happens to AB and Smart? Deal off AB?

Awful trade. Avery is way more valuable and would fetch more than Noel should Boston trade him.

Also, as we've discussed endlessly lately, why give up assets for a guy that doesn't change the outcome of this season? You want him? Go after him in the offseason.

Crowder to MN, Lavine to Philly and Noel and Covington to Boston would not be surprising.

Boston would lose max cap space due to Noel's $11 mil cap hold, but AB can be moved in the summer to make room for Hayward.

Cause if you trade for him its possible to sign both him and a max free agent. If you try to sign him outright, no chance at a max FA.

I like the idea of adding Noel, but not at the cost of AB.

He has been playing well for the sixers. I would guess that they don't trade him unless its a big overpay.

I would consider Rozier or Jackson plus Mickey and Young, along with what ever non-Brooklyn Picks Philly wants.

Doubt it's possible to add Noel and Hayward in the summer. Noel will get $15 million plus from someone.

I just don't think Noel is that appealing. Certainly not at the cost of Bradley.

I don't think Boston aspires to a Noel/Hayward summer.

I'd do LaVine for Crowder. LaVine has more of an offensive game and personally I think Crowder is an overrated defender.

I wouldn't trade Bradley for Noel, just arguing the logic of trading for him before he's RFA.

Yeah, I didn't clarify. I'm not looking at this season, I'm looking at our needs after this season when we spend our cap on a Hayward or on extending IT and Smart. Noel will be an RFA and I fully expect we'll need to trade something if we want to get him.

Horford and Noel look like the ideal front court pairing.

I don't see us keeping Bradley, Smart and IT after '17 when all 3 contracts come due. Maybe Philly throws in a pick or something to make it less lopsided, but I think Avery is the odd man out at some point.

And I think Noel is just about at the tipping point. Teams are going to look back 2 years from now and say, "Damn, why didn't we pick him up when his price was so low."

I'd worry about Lavine being empty offense. Not saying he is, but just from the outside looking in, he seems like might be one of those guys who is an offensive stud, but doesn't have the same impact on winning as he does on the boxscore if that makes sense. Kind of like the reverse Marcus Smart (impacts winning, but doesn't light up the box score).

That being said he could also be an absolute stud as he continues to develop. Crazy athleticism, scores in a myriad of ways, has the body to play good defense.

I think I'd still rather ride with Jae because he's better suited to help us win sooner rather than later, while I think Lavine would be great but would go with Brown/BKN picks as far as our new development plan and puts us further away from the "1 piece and we're a contender" spot we're in now.

This is the biggest misunderstanding in this forum. People in this forum don't understand how the Celtics view Bradley and how coveted Bradley is throughout the rest of the league. An efficient shooting guard averaging 18 ppg and 7 rpg who is one of the best on the ball defenders in the game and shoots 48% including 42% from 3 point land. People toss him in these trade proposals like he is Gerald Green.

The same could have been said about IT when Danny first acquired him. It's all about the fit in our offense. He can create his own shot and I think that's something we are desperately missing. Bradley, Crowder, Smart, KO.. all sort of the same offensive players. Can't create, sparingly get inside the paint, and heavily depend on the kick out 3. Also, every move has to be made with a long term vision. I don't think that "1 piece" you mention is available. In order for us to be a contender off 1 addition, that's going to have to be a super elite player.
