Will we go 12-deep? We do know Semi's gonna get his minutes. We have to play Ro-Ro, Boo-Butt, and Aaron. We just have to.

Injuries and load management will happen so everyone will get their opportunity, especially Pritchard who could be this year's Shane Larkin if Kemba misses time.

10 minutes for Nesmith?? Why would Semi get 8 at all?

Nope. Celtics picked up his contract for next season.

That above is the likely scenario. There's no point denying it haha. Maybe 12 mpg for Nesmith, but Semi's gonna get his minutes. Being ahead of the curve in terms of understanding defensive rotations/schemes matters to Stevens.

Here below is what you'd have if you're leaning youth/upside:

Kemba (26) | Pritchard (12) | Teague (10)
Brown (20) | Smart (12) | Langford (16)
Tatum (18) | Nesmith (16) | Smart (14)
Grant (20) | Tatum (12) | Brown (10) | Theis (6)
Timelord (24) | Thompson (16) | Theis (8)

The important thing is who can and will play in playoffs.

Kemba/teague
Smart
Brown
Tatum/g.williams
Thompson/theis

This 8 for sure will be in rotation.

Than its up to Langford, Nesmith, R.Williams to prove they can play.

Thats 11 guys.

Semi if he improves 3pt Also should not be counted out.

Does not look bad depth wise.

Yep, and if we get that TPE, we can even make a move midseason for a vet contributor if none of the young guys pan out yet. We also can't afford an injury to Kemba/Smart/Tatum/Brown.

Anyway, Kemba's health and Tatum's further ascent will mostly define how deep we go into the postseason.

Now this I like Times 1000000.. While also believing it's by far better for the team's long term run....

Langford will miss the start of the year from what I remember. Between that and Kemba likely sitting a bunch of games that opens up a lot more minutes for Nesmith.

I don't understand why we are still keeping Semi. There were a lot of better players in free agency that could have been his replacement. Ainge just stood pat and instead re-signed him. Ugh.

Danny said he didn't want more than two rookies on the roster. That implies the following...

Danny would rather have Semi than Vernon Carey.

Danny would rather stash a player who may never play in the NBA than take Paul Reed.

That makes as much sense as a $3 dollar bill.

He cost $1.8m. That is free player.

What's the more underwhelming offseason?

2015: Signed Amir Johnson; re-signed Crowder & Jerebko; drafted Hunter, Rozier, Mickey, Thornton; traded for David Lee
2020: Signed Tristan Thompson & Jeff Teague; signed Tatum to max contract extension; drafted Nesmith & Pritchard; lost Hayward

Hard not knowing how our 2020 draft picks will turn out or what the TPE (assuming the c's get one) will become. Say what you want about Rozier he tuned into a starting NBA guard, no guarantee Nemsith or Pritchard becomes even that.

If TT turns into Amir Johnson 2.0, we will all be quite happy. Honestly a big like that would have made a huge difference against Miami.

to be fair, it was more like 2020 Boston had 4 draft picks and only used 2, while GH left for nothing. BUT WE DID RESIGN SEMI 8-)

* Not to mention we had 10000+ comments on the draft and what to do with GH and still waiting for a measly TPE :x

This is my biggest "pet peeve" possibly since Danny Ainge became a GM for me.
