Read on Twitter

It's title or bust in Boston. Who cares if he never had an MVP candidate in his entire tenure or that team's been ravaged by injuries to their key guys the last 5 years.

Well this thread backfired. Ya wanted the guy fired and he got a promotion.

Maybe this will be a good thing for the team. I could never get on board with the "brad sucks" comments but maybe his effectivness was wearing off and maybe top players want to have a coach who was also a top player. Clearly Brad did a great job when you look at his entire time here. If say Tatum and Brown wanted a change, then cudos for them in doing it in a way that kind of saves everyone face. Or maybe Brad wanted Ainges job and was sick of coaching.

All of this news is certianly shocking. I guess I'll have to wait till the dust settles. But with how well the team has been run since the present ownership has taken over I'd be really surprised if anyone walks away with hurt feelings over this.

Stevens gets promoted and the first move he does is fire himself as Head Coach. Perhaps Ainge is the fall guy. I hope Brad replaces himself at HC with Sam Cassell who can bring along KG as an assistant coach and possibly Kenny Smith as well. Its a players league, make this organization an appealing, competitive environment with former stars.

Stupidity times a million.

Is this a government department, getting demoted upstairs with a pay rise and more power?

Rick Pitino was much more qualified than Steven Brad.

President?

Lifetime contract?

He has nothing to do with Boston, or the Celtics.

This is a farce.

Zero success.

Maybe he had success when the definition is used of an obscure college amateur team, but for what the Boston Celtics expect he has zero.

The proverbial Jobs For The Boys, Gravy Train, Who You Know Not What You Know.

Instead of Brad talking to an Ainge would make the decision, now Brad will take to an Ainge and then make the decision?

Most likely it is just a landing spot for Brad until he comes up with his next gig, in an effort by Wyc not to have to pay the 10s of millions they owe him if they don't have to (and to at least get a contribution out of him if they do).

 there you are.
Patience playa patience.
Ainge out as chief executive, new GM coming.
Stevens out as head coach, new HC coming in.
Final domino will be Stevens accepting a new coaching gig. Only question is where and when? Personally I think it's all lined up for Duke. But Charlotte's a possibility too.
And now we know why what our eyes were seeing.

Patients? I either never had it or lost it. 1 title in the last 36 years is a joke. I went from standing 10 ft from Len Bias, dreaming of multiple titles to getting only one in almost 4 decades. So sick of patience. So sick of 3 out 4 CSF BS, Standards have gotten so low that is now justified as acceptable.

I am not getting any younger.

Having Stevens getting "kicked upwards" is a joke. Does anyone have any idea if he can evaluate talent? Negotiate a deal? Make good contract decisions??

We should certainly have doubts that he can make any tough decisions.

I can only hope we hire a coach that can jumpstart the mess that Ainge and definitely Coach Casper created.

I was thinking this thread would die down until Stevens actually makes at least one single move as GM, but oh no, luckily it looks like there's plenty of irrational hate left to keep it going strong! Yay!

For all intents and purposes, this is now the official fire Brad Stevens the president of basketball thread. Feel free to post anything related to hating the president of basketball Brad Stevens here.

Has that ever stopped anyone. We should lock this thread and instantly create the fire Brad Stevens PoBO editon thread.

Personally if Zarren stays we're actually in great shape. Because i think Mike is the best cap guy in the league combined with a good basketball mind like Stevens we have a good duo up top. Now if he hires a great coach we might be able to turn this roster into a championship caliber team afterall.

I've gotta think they've promised Zarren a bigger role in decision making. Otherwise he would be pissed at being passed over, and would probably be looking to leave now (which for all I know he may well be, but it doesn't seem like it for now). Brad is a more of a figurehead than Ainge. I think Comedian even mentioned something like this in one of his Com bombs.

 its not that at all (and you know it).
Stevens might contribute some knowledge while he's here but he'll be coaching somewhere within 18 months.
What I meant by patience to playa is that Stevens will soon be gone from the organization entirely.

Apparently Zarren seems to love the work and doesn’t care if he gets credit. Maybe he’s doing most of the work.

I'm looking forward to seeing who the next coach all the same people hate on is.
