You have the same basketball IQ as you claim Jaylen has.

Dude is a beast. I love how we've built a team of super capable defenders and playmakers/shot creators

I've been late lately on consuming NBA content, but was listening to Lowe and he was discussing 6th man. He said that White isn't eligible, but if he was, he'd be leading over Brogdon.

Not sure if it is the player of the week award, or that White has exceeded expectations more than Brogdon, but I feel the same way. Brogdon has better stats becauae he's so efficient and that's his standard, but White has been so big for many games this season. This doesn't mean White is a better player, Brogdon is still in a tier above. I just get the sense White has had a better season

Celtics net rating when White is ON the court, post-ASB: +15.2
Celtics net rating when White is OFF the court, post-ASB: -4.5 (only player where Cs are in the negative when he’s OFF)

This isn’t just because he’s starting ‘cos with all our other four starters, Cs have higher net rating when they’re off the court.

DWhite is Jokic now and we just gotta embrace it.

White is a perfect example of why fans need to be patient with guys and not be so quick to judge them harshly.

People on here were trashing the guy last season, saying it was a horrible trade, saying he can't shoot, saying that Pritchard should get minutes over him, etc.

Now look what happened.

People gotta realize - it takes time for a guy to get acclimated to a new team, new system, etc. Not easy to just get thrown onto a new team in the middle of the season.

I knew that once he had a full offseason and a full training camp with the new team, he'd be good to go. Plus, clearly he worked on his shooting - with Sullivan's help.

We saw the same thing with Udoka, too. Tons of fans on here were bashing him and staying he should get fired, 20 games into the season. He just needed time. It takes time to actually implement your system as a coach, get the locker room to buy in, and actually start making meaningful change as a new coach.

The lesson we all must learn is to be more patient with new coaches/players.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Plus he'd been his entire career in San Antonio. It was the first time for him seeing another city, system, team.
Robert Horry is better than MJ, because everybody knows that 7>6.

December was such a fluke bad month from deep, though you can see him leaning to the side on his threes at the time, which was what they worked on over the summer.

3PT shooting by month.

Disappointed with the Celtics org that there’s no All-Defense campaign going on for DWhite. He should at least be 2nd team.

BREAKING: NBPA VPs Grant Williams and Malcolm Brogdon have beef. Grant doesn’t endorse Brogdon for Sixth Man of the Year!

I don't know how anyone can watch him get cooked, allowing guys to blow by him to the basket multiple times a game, and still claim he should be part of the DPOY conversation. We truly do have the biggest homers in this fanbase. He's a solid and smart defender but not a great one.

As to his effectiveness this season, he's literally getting wide open threes like everyone else who has played his role but the difference is, his shot has been money THIS season. But it wasn't last season when he was shooting 31% from three. Was that his outlier season? Is this an outlier season? Or is he most likely somewhere in the middle where he's resided his other seasons around 35% which is average? He's a bad shooting slump away from being unplayable in the playoffs btw. Better hope it doesn't happen.

As to why he's not playing in the 4th currently, it's all about Smart and his fragile ego. It is what it is. While White is shooting this well (or Pritchard last season when he was shooting even better than White is now i.e. 41%) he should be starting over Smart and be our crunch-time PG with Smart reverting to his more appropriate 6th man role because it means the people shooting the wide open threes have a better chance of hitting them rather than Smart, which opens up driving lanes for the Jays and our offense in general. But again, Smart's ego is too fragile to accept that.
