Player B: 7.0 Win Shares, 0.246 WS/48, 3.3 BPM, 1.8 VORP, 8.8 TOV%, 15.2 ORB%, 4.8 BLK%, 68.3 TS%, 50.5% defensive field goal percentage allowed within 6 feet

Spoiler:
In case it's not obvious player A is Ayton, player C is Capela and player B is Kornet. I can understand being wary of a single advanced metric but when all of them point to someone being a wildly more impactful player there's probably a kernel of truth there.

If they did get Dame on a 2 year minimum... 2026-27 team:

Dame / Pritchard
White / Gonzalez
Brown / Scheierman / Walsh
Tatum / Hauser / Minott
(Full MLE Signing) / Queta / Garza

Plus our first round pick, I'd guess somewhere between 10 and 16 (that means we're a play in team, win or lose).

That would be our "below the tax" team. If they're willing to back over the tax next year, you can keep Simons or S&T him for someone. It does get somewhat tricky though because the full MLE caps you at the 1st apron so keeping Simons would mean you only get taxpayers MLE for that starting big man spot and keeping him might not be (probably isn't) worth downgrading your starting center. But then again, if they're ducking the tax next year that only makes sense if they ducked this year to set up a repeater rate reset and if they did that they had to have either moved Simons (thus talk of retaining him is moot) or Hauser (thus they have an extra $11M to add onto the team above and can probably keep Simons if they go into the tax if he's still here).

To sign Dame and then have both him and Tatum on “Achilles watch” for a year is both highly terrifying and extremely exciting at the same time.

Sign me up.

What's all the Dame talk.

Hayden Gray is better than him.

Stop. Capela and Ayton are starters in this league. Kornet was a 3rd stringer prior to this season. In the playoffs he is average at best, outside of 1 Luke fluke game.

Please don't trade this man..he'll be lethal in our 3 pt heavy system, he'll thrive with the spacing he'll have here..and he'll thrive as a 3rd/4th option rather than being the 1st/2nd option in Portland:

He's got the potential to possibly make an all-star team as a Celtic. Just turned 26..still getting better.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

A league source also made it clear that Lillard could have interest in Boston, too, citing his respect for the organization and his long friendship with Tatum.”

What exactly does a team full of broken Achilles look like?

This ain't the way.

Looks like we might get to find out!!

Why are people even entertaining Dame coming to Boston? He’s 100% not coming here. Didn’t like the market when he was trying to get out of Portland. Weather isn’t good. Nightlife sucks. Marketing opportunities aren’t here. All things he valued over winning before, so what changed? If it’s about making the Bucks pay he’ll just sign with the Knicks and back up Brunson.

Even Himmelsbach knows it’s not happening, he’s just trying to write about something potentially positive for this team.

Stop. Capela isn't a starter in this league anymore. As evidenced by the fact he lost his spot to Onyeka Okongwu of all people last season. He was far less productive than Kornet last season and he is trending downwards, while as you admitted yourself, Kornet is trending up. Which seems pretty relevant when they are getting paid for what they'll do going forward instead of what they did a couple of years ago. Ayton is getting paid 35 millions by the Blazers this season to NOT suit up for them which a totally normal thing that NBA teams do all the time to their starters.

I can not agree with you More. Simons is a LEGIT offensive weapon. A floor spacer who can attack the basket. I am guessing some need time to see the evidence. But that time will come if Brad doesn't make a trade (I am guessing it won't happen)
