I don't think we'll be seeing Tatum in a Team USA jersey again as long as Kerr is the coach. He's being treated like a Harrison Barnes or Tayshaun Prince out there.

That's good news to Celtic fans, if indeed that will be the case.

We don't need JT risking injury in 2028, when he's already 30 years old.

Who knows, Celtics may be hunting for Banner 21 in 2028.

The dude was top 3 in total minutes played behind Luka and Ant so I don't really care if he plays or not as I'm not big on the Olympics for a bunch of reasons. It's just annoying when people use Tatum not playing as an excuse to **** on him and all of a sudden all of his stats/accomplishments are thrown out the window by a buncha couch potato GMs.

Not sure if confirmed, I only heard it on a podcast, but this is Kerr's last stint as Team USA coach.

His overall game improved, especially his passing. He still doesn’t box out that much on rebounds, so he needs improvement there as well. Shooting and shot making have been a problem this past seasons. With his “supposed” shooting, pulling up from mid range should have been automatic, but its not for JT. He always makes it hard for himself to score. Taking turn around fade aways when don’t need to. Jacking off side step contested 3’s. Missing free throws, layups and ppint blank shots. He’s not good at using the board as well, and doesn’t have good body control. A little bump, and he misses a layup completely, which should have been an easy and1 for others. I feel bad for what happened to JT getting benched, but he needs to work on his game. JB improved a lot last season, and can even be better next season. If he wants the respect from his peers and coaches, he must get better.

Shooting at the rim in the NBA this season
Kevin Durant 81.3%
Anthony Davis 77.5%
Derrick White 77.0%
Devin Booker 76.1%
LeBron James 75.8%
Jayson Tatum 74.1%
Bam Adebayo 72.9%
Jrue Holiday 71.0%
Joel Embiid 71.0%
Anthony Edwards 69.8%
Tyrese Haliburton 69.3%
Stephen Curry 69.2%

Not really seeing how Tatum's finishing is any worse than the other guys on team USA (especially since he has one of the highest volume at the rim).

Just watch the game man. Tatum misses the most point blank uncontested shots at the rim for a supposed star player. He doesn’t finish well through contact either. A little bump, and his shot is off, or he just throws the ball. He needs to work on his game. As of right now, i don’t trust JT with the ball at end of games. I feel he’ll brick most of his shots, and take unnecessary tough shots.

Suddenly getting over the hump in winning the championship was overshadowed by all the short comings JT got. First not winning both east mvp and finals mvp, and the nail in the coffin getting benched and treated like a scrub. Embarassing for JT. Bet he wished he didn’t play at all.

Australian women move the ball well and get some open looks but can't shoot at all. 5-15 and a lot of them pretty wide open.

He is the most maligned 19 year old superstar in the league for sure.

Dude is shooting horrible, and has been since the playoffs. Why would you play him? Also, why are yall crying about the USA team and wanting them to lose! This is our country and yall have 3 players from your team representing the USA

Yeah, it always seems like we play USA in the semi finals too and can’t get to that gold medal match hahaha

I don’t want USA to lose at all but also Tatum should be playing. They’re mutually exclusive for sure. The margins are slim and the Kerr rotations are a big reason why (and JT not playing is part of Kerr’s goofy rotations).

Bob Cousy on Steve Kerr: He's got some kind of bias against the Celtics
“Tatum is on the cover of Sports Illustrated this month. Any experts that I’ve read lately have chosen him in the top five, and sometimes No. 1 in the [expletive] world. Now Kerr is telling the world that he doesn’t agree. In a 40-minute game, if you can’t find five minutes to play somebody on the team without hurting yourself … “When Kerr did it last week, he was in no danger of losing the game, but in this case they got down by 17 points and he’s got to worry about losing the game. And then to not let Tatum get off the bench — to me, there’s got to be some kind of bias that he’s got against the Celtics. He’s not alone there. – via Boston Globe

“I don’t know Steve Kerr, and everything I’ve ever heard about him has been positive. But there’s such a difference between playing a guy for a few minutes as opposed to not playing him at all. And now he has doubled down on it. – via Boston Globe

You know what ? I am actually quite happy/pleased with the snubs both Jays have gotten over this US Olympic team (Tatum not playing, Brown not selected)

Extra motivation and incentive for us to go hard and repeat as champions.

I am Aussie and as such hope our boys win a gold medal for America, but as I say, Joe and Brad can hopefully use this as incentives and motivation for the Jays (esp Tatum) to take their games onto an even higher level next season.

I am greedy/hungry for more chips for us :)

This could be the fuel for the journey to Banner 21.
