The way I look at it is it’s just another option and big body for the playoffs.

I mean Robert Williams is only going to play 25 MPG at most a night regardless. I'm all for Drummond taking minutes from TT and it keeps him away from other contenders.

He's basically in the Kanter mold where he'll rack up PPG and RPG with ease

LAL, Nets, NYK. Unless Ainge made him a promise.

One thing we know for sure, DA and team are masters when it comes to getting FA (when we get a meeting). The only miss on the big names they met was KD, and he even said he almost signed with Boston during the meeting, but I think his agent made him think about it more and take the other meetings. If GSW wasn't there, we would be looking at a clean sweep so far.

this made me think of something else for the first time. Drummond is in demand by a few teams/contenders. It has been said that Boston doesn't attract FAs as well as other places.

So getting Drummond would be a nice boost in that he choose us over some other nice places, such as NYC/Brooklyn and La.

Maybe I am high from tonight's BB etc. But I now want Drummond to come :D

I really don't get that train of thought tho, every big name we had space for, the best FA at the time, we got them to choose us (except KD by a Champ). We haven't had space during most of the times the big FAs are looking. We close a lot when we have space and get a meeting. I bet teams hate when FA gives us a meeting.

True, but I have heard many times LA or Miami for the weather and/or night life (NYC) etc.. from the posters so many times.

I'm of the belief that Rob is physically (read cardio due to health limitations) limited at the moment to about the 25min mark per game, Stevens hasn't been playing Theis and TT over him simply because he likes them more.

Thankfully his impact on games in those 25 minutes is through the roof.

If getting a motivated and healthy Drummond means that Rob gets his minutes off the bench, I can live with that because who knows what we can pull off this postseason. I'll always back our guys in

One plus for me -- we still have a German on the roster. :)

Kinda perplexed that the board refuses to acknowledge this ... even after Ainge confirmed last month that he was on limited minutes due to hip concerns ....
I guess it helps with the anti Stephens Agenda going on with a majority of this board if we just blame it on him ?

For a minimum I'm easily taking Drummond. But I've no idea what will Brad do with Drummond/RWill/Thompson/Wagner rotation. We will be watching stupid double big lineups again. We'll be back to Theis/Thompson/RWill problem if not bigger problem.

He will start every game with Drummond and Thompson. Which will give the Celtics the best bench in the NBA because they will start every game off down 20 points.

So will Theis be another role player who looks worse after he stops playing for Stevens?

Only if other teams make him a garbageman. He's gonna get the bag on contending teams.

Seems Ainge’s best moves were those that limit Brad’s nonsensical lineups. Even though Timelord is an obvious starter for the rest of us, don’t assume Brad sees it the same way. We get Drummond and Timelord goes back to the same role and limited minutes as before. I’d be all for Drummond if I believed Brad would use him properly.

Good luck paying all of Tatum, Brown, Smart, Timelord, and Fournier after next season. Esp if Kemba is still on the books for his final season.

That's why the repeater penalty was so important to avoid.

Yep. The 2022-23 payroll + tax bill is gonna be humongous regardless if we keep all of the above. About 170M pre-tax between 9 guys if Fournier and Smart command 20 per and Rob at 18 per.

One thing NOT to worry about -- Wyc finding the cash. If it's a good business decision, which it likely would be, cash flow will never be a problem.

Rob had 6 assists last night. His passing is extremely underrated. This kid is very very good.
