Holy cow. I guess the game now is to make a 15 man roster from this. One that has an outside shot of making the playoffs. I'll start:
Bigs: Christian Wood, JaMychal Green, Bismack Biyombo, Serge Ibaka, PJ Washington
Swings: Svi Mykhailiuk, Justice Winslow, Hamidou Diallo, Javonte Green, Terence Davis, Kelly Oubre, Stanley Johnson
Ball handlers: George Hill, Austin Rivers, Lamar Stevens
Something like that. Wouldn't make the playoffs, but is well under the cap!
Idk about that, but they could make a separate league for all these guys. Pull together 72 free agents. They could have a 6 team league with 12 guys on a team haha.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

Hmm, @Lakers or @MiamiHEAT? What's holding up Christian Wood? One exec says it is the same thing that is holding up much around the NBA: Damian Lillard. I.e., the potential $$ Miami could have after a deal: "That’s the wildcard." More at @HeavyOnSports

Nah to the separate league, but you gotta field a team from what's left. I had the first 15 picks in the draft!
Frank the tank is still available!

PJ Washington is the #1 pick on that board.

Not that I'm aware of. There was a video I saw where he said he's talking to a team and it kind of hinted that the team might be Miami, but we don't know for sure and there's no guarantee Miami gets Dame..
Perhaps Brad knows Danny wants to go to Miami though, and that's why we've been linked to other guys like Svi, Terence Davis and Austin Rivers instead.

I know that the off court incident Davis had a few yrs ago is a red flag, but look at this defense, man. Look at how quick he moves his feet. And this is in the playoffs vs the Warriors. Then he hits the 3 spotting up.
For a bench player not playing a ton of mins, he has shot the 3 with good volume - while shooting a good % from 3 pretty consistently as well. So he checks a few different boxes. 26 yrs old, so entering his prime - still might have some untapped potential.

He's already on my squad, hands off!
Yeah, out of the available, he'd be a top choice, although I like Svi M for what Celtics need right now.
I thought PJ might slip to us in 2019. Full disclosure: I would have taken Doumbouya, then had Hachimura, Washington, Clarke ranked ahead of Herro, NAW, Williams, Thybulle, and Langford. Man, I whiffed on Doumbouya, but Danny whiffed on Langford.
Nobody seems to high on PJ though. He's be a nice backup big. He'd need to up his defense to get minutes for the Celtics though.

Putting the clamps on Klay and then hitting a 3 while drifting to the left is good NBA basketball, even if just for one play.
Get it done Brad!
I know training camp is over a month away, but I'd like to get the roster set. Seems like the next couple weeks is when we'll see some of the FA vets start to capitulate for the available dollars. Brad needs to find that sweet spot and get a good player at good value but before the cupboard is bare.

Seems odd Davis still hasn't been signed. He's certainly worthy of an NBA contract and I'd welcome him aboard so long as he keeps himself clean.

If OG is looking for more than that figure, it makes me feel good about maxing White (below 90M for 3 years) for his extension.

Can Brad sign both Svi Mykhailiuk and Terence Davis without pulling those apron strings? That would make the offseason a solid A.
Timelord/Porzingis/Tatum/Brown/White
Horford/ Kornet
Brissett/ Walsh
Mykhailiuk/ Hauser
Brogdon/ Davis
Pritchard/ Banton
Depth at every position.

Eh, I doubt he signs both Svi and Davis. It would probably be one or the other. They're both 2/3 guys who can shoot from 3 with good volume but limited in other areas of the game..they're pretty similar players, both end of the bench guys..
I figure we'll add a 2/3 type of guy (someone like Svi, Rivers, Davis, Danny Green or Lindy Waters) for the 14th man. Then 15th man either Blake, possibly JaMychal Green..or have some exhibit 10 guys compete for the spot in camp - or leave the spot open to start the season for flexibility (and $ savings)..

One of Davis or Mykhailiuk would be nice. I like Svi for 3 pt shooting but I've been checking out Davis and he is growing on me. Better defense it looks like. Seems like Mykhailiuk is headed to Greece? Davis may be a good "buy low" guy, unless there is a bidding war with other teams like the Bucks. I haven't looked into his apparently checkered past. He's 26 now, so since the talent is there you gotta give guys the opportunity to learn and mature. He could be a good microwave guy to bring in when he's hot, also can slow down opposing wings with his defense. Strong body and excellent hops.
So if one of those wings and resign Blake, we're good to go.
My concern with Davis is he gets signed by a conference playoff foe and looks like an all star against the Celtics in the playoffs. This is one of the reasons why I hope Brad gets a player soon. One extra young-ish vet with some playoff experience, athleticism, defense and decent shooting and I'm good. Davis clicks off the boxes.
He also looks a little chippy out on the court at times -- another one of my boxes. With Grant and Smart gone, we need a couple players willing to jawbone with guys like Butler. Too many choir boys now. Guys like Walsh and Davis can play that instigator role in lik=mited minutes. Sort of Pat Bev/Lance Stevenson type where they are not going to be your top player but when they are out there the opposing team is aware that there is a guy on the floor that just might get a little freaky. Maybe Davis is not really that type of player, but looks like he can occasionally impose his will on the game. Brad might call it being an "energy raiser".

What can you say...
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10085295-ranking-the-nbas-best-superstar-duos-right-now
Ranking the NBA's Best Superstar Duos Right Now
GREG SWARTZ
AUGUST 8, 2023
Superstar duos in the NBA are as timeless as the game itself. When examining rosters across the league, the 2023-24 season will be no exception.
When identifying which teams possess the best duos, however, a number of factors will be considered.
Stars not only need to be individually great, but also prove they can mesh well with their co-stars, meaning we'll be taking into account lineup data here. A team's success with both players on the court last season with be heavily taken into consideration for these rankings, with help from CleaningtheGlass.com.
We'll also be using estimated plus-minus and estimated wins data from DunksandThrees.com, which help measure the value of individual players while taking into account both offense and defense.
Adding these numbers up while projecting player progression and regression, injury history and current trade requests has given us a clear picture of the top five (plus some honorable mentions) superstar duos for 2023-24.
Honorable Mention
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, Boston Celtics
Even with six years of experience and a trip to the NBA Finals together, Tatum and Brown fell short of cracking the top five here.
Brown's EPM score of plus-2.6 ranked just 46th overall in the NBA, and the two stars combined for a modest plus-5.2 net rating in 3,376 total possessions together, which was actually lower than Boston's overall net of plus-6.9.
Both are still improving and should be tied to each other for years to come with Brown's new monster deal and another coming for Tatum next summer, although some overlapping skills hold them back from the league's elite here.
