On the one hand, it is tragic that the third greatest Celtic of all time & STILL A TOP TIER SF in the NBA at age 35 will finish his brilliant HOF career elsewhere. Paul will pass Hondo and retire a Top 10-15 scorer in NBA history, but Hondo will remain the leading scorer in career Celtic history forever.

On the other hand, Paul & KG added to Deron (who I have ALWAYS thought was a stud & a COMPLETE **** PG), JJ and Lopez can beat Miami next season (and **** all over the KnUCKS). And both of my daughters live in Brooklyn and work in Manhattan, and one of them lives 4 blocks from Barclay's. I be buying some major tickets and visiting NYC even more often.

Meanwhile we will dump Rondo and Green for more assets, and start from scratch with a bushel full of picks and ?Wiggins?.
SamIam 2010: Truth's ability to play so incredibly efficiently is so UNDERAPPRECIATED. Bballcool 2012: Amazing how great Pierce has been for so long. Continues to defy age! KG 2013: P is original Celtic. Wherever he goes, we go. This is The Truth's house.

Any season ticket holder should have seen this coming.

Oh REALY? I suppose you know a few 13 year olds that have nba potential? Do you have a mock for the 2018 draft? What moron thought we would trade two great players for 3 picks over SIX years ANd take a CRAP contract back?

We're a **** rebuilding team. We're not looking to win now. The Celtics will probably trade that pick before 2018 even gets here.

KG and Pierce don't have the great value around the league that you think they have. Quit being a homer. We weren't getting a good prospect back for them, we weren't getting a lottery pick back for them. This is reality. This is the type of offers we were going to get that. There was no way we were going to trade KG/Pierce and not have to back a bad contract or two or not acquire future picks down the line.

You sure about that?

Asked directly if Rondo was a superstar worth building around - a la Pierce in 2007 - Ainge said emphatically, "Yes."

Chris Forsberg @ESPNForsberg 2 minutes ago
Not hard to read between lines with Ainge tonight. When mentioning future, didn't include Pierce, KG, or Terry in references.

Jessica Camerato @JCameratoNBA 4 minutes ago
Ainge said there are players on Celtics he's not looking to move right now, including Rondo.

I wouldn't read too much into that. He has to say yes.

I just don't see it. Rondo is not going anywhere.

2 complaints:

1. No TPE exception and no way to acquire a major piece in trade with matching salary.

2. No cap room because we are going to be paying Gerald Wallace more than Jeff Green.

We have no exciting perimeter players on our Summer League team. We don't get Joseph till like out fourth game.

With this many picks, we can make just about whatever deal that comes up.

Or, just wait a year.

Warms my heart to see you alive and posting and taking it so well, Ex. I won't be ready to venture NEAR an appreciation thread for KG and **especially** PP tonight..

I'm still amazed at what Pierce did last year - 19/6/5 on decent percentages despite injury - and at what he did every year since 1998:

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/325 ... pJ4vw9PKB4

His playoffs were rough, but he leaves Boston standing tall, with more ball to play..
Paul Pierce appreciation society.

KG and Pierce still don't win a ring in Brooklyn IMO. This is like Pippen and Barkley joining up in Houston when they were way past their primes. It would've served much better for KG's legacy if he retired in Boston.

hahahaha we're really banking on the Nets being a terrible team between 2016 and 2018.

Everyone talking about trading Rondo. We can tank and keep Rondo. With what we are doing now. I would be surprised to see Rondo play much next season. Why rush him back from knee surgery when we plan on sucking anyways.

Difference is Barkley didn't have the work ethic.

I know this is sarcasm, but I'm not quite sure what you're making fun of. The idea that we can trade the first rounders from this deal for good players?
