Darussafaka's half-court offense seems disorganized. Not a lot of ball movement. Zizic not getting touches. Subbed out. They're now down 15, near end of 1st.

Time will tell but right now the returns for Danny's drafting in 2016 look very, very promising. It was a horrible draft in which to have eight picks and three first-rounders. Danny parlayed that into a superb prospect in Jaylen Brown; only Ben Simmons might prove to be clearly superior in time. Zizic by all current accounts is one the the top 10 players to come out of that draft. I wouldn't trade him for Dragan Bender or Buddy Hield.

The jury is way out on Yabusele, but it is hard not to get captivated by his talent, size, skill and athleticism. I think he looks better now as a prospect than he did on draft night or in summer league. The people who actually see him in China appear to be universal in their enthusiasm for his NBA prospects.

Then Danny parlayed two 2016 2nd rounders into a (lotto-protected) future no. 1 pick from the Clippers. He also got Demetrius Jackson, whom I suspect will be a bust, but I could be proven wrong. And of course Abdel Nader, who I think will play in the NBA for a few years at least.

Only wipe out for now--Ben Bentil.

Danny faced a very high degree of difficulty in the turd-laden draft and found a number of gems, at least for now. Bravo.

it was a great draft class contrary to what pundits and "experts" claim and people like you regurgitate. smh Clueless. The fact that you are praising Danny for his Zizic pick at #23 proves that. The fact that BK is likely to start LeVert, #20 overall, after dealing Bogs, if not immediately, certainly by next season is another. It's a very young and raw class. It'll take a few seasons for guys like Bender, Chriss, Maker, Papagiannis, D. Murray and Zubac to develop and get time. You'll all be proven wrong in a few seasons when you look back on it. People just don't see the forest for the trees, are very short sighted and prone to groupthink.

Darussafaka's PnR defense is garbage. Not sure I wanna watch more of this. Madrid now up by 17. Zizic subbed out quickly in 2nd.

Daru making a bit of a comeback with Zizic off the floor. Only down 10 with 5 minutes left in half.

Zizic back in. Gets fouled rolling to the basket. Makes both FTs. 41-32, Madrid.

That was not exactly a vertical contest, Ante. Zizic called for the foul.

I can confirm -- Zizic has long arms and tries to go after offensive boards.

His +/- will not look pretty. Daru now down 19 again lol.

No one passes to Zizic...he has to earn every point getting rebound an attack the rim. Thez play offense like he is not on the court?

Zizic starts in the 2nd half.

Llull gets isolated on Zizic and puts him on skates for the fadeaway jumper.

Ayon fouls Zizic in the post. Ante makes 1 of 2 from FT.

Ayon fouls Zizic again on the boxout.

Zizic misses putback then keeps ball alive for another possession.

I can confirm that Zizic takes up a lot of space inside and can box out. Putback is good.

Zizic called for an offensive foul on his baseline spin move for the reverse. THAT WAS NOT A HOOK, REFS!

Madrid up 67-46 with 5 minutes left in 3rd.

Zizic is able to block the path of penetrating guards but his teammates aren't rotating in time once guard passes the ball. Too many easy baskets for Madrid.

Good contest/coverage by Zizic to force late clock heave.

Gets the ball in the post and kicks it out for the 3!

Good rimrun on the break but the dumb guards never found him in the paint. They still get a 3 out of the possession. Madrid now only up by 9. This has been a good stint for Zizic.

Another good rimrun but awful pass by the guard.

PASS ANTE THE BALL INSIDE! Guards too selfish and ball-dominant.

Zizic misses contested layup. Madrid up 75-60 after 3.

Ante's able to seal his man in the paint but he rarely gets the pass. Most of his FGAs are via putbacks/tip-ins. Dunno where to find the box score for this.

Zizic hits a midrange jumper!

Ante's subbed out with 7 minutes left. Daru down 14.

Ante with the roll and the dunk! 3:30 left, Madrid still up 12.

I can confirm -- Ante cannot dribble the ball on a fastbreak like Horford lol. Turns ball over.

Zizic with another offensive board (his 7th I think). Gets fouled.

Dagger by Luka Doncic. Madrid up 15 with less than a minute left.

Zizic won't survive PnR (on defense) in NBA if he played right now lol.

Sergio Llull hits a three all the way from Lisbon. Game over.

Final tally: Madrid 101, Darussafaka 83.

Ante Zizic with a double-double, 11 points (4/9 FG, 3/6 FT) and 10 boards (7 offensive!!) with 2 assists and 3 turnovers in 31 minutes. He was fouled 9 times, a game-high.

Box score: http://www.euroleague.net/main/results/showgame?gamecode=184&seasoncode=E2016 (h/t to Murta)

Gotta work on defensive positioning and lateral movement to be at least decent on D. His length is something we could use.

Zizic tied for the best PIR on his team, 3rd best in the game.

The NBA should use PIR in their box scores too. Formula from Wikipedia: (Points + Rebounds + Assists + Steals + Blocks + Fouls Drawn) - (Missed Field Goals + Missed Free Throws + Turnovers + Shots Rejected + Fouls Committed).

Agreed. Basketball Reference has something similar called Game Score (PTS + 0.4 * FG - 0.7 * FGA - 0.4*(FTA - FT) + 0.7 * ORB + 0.3 * DRB + STL + 0.7 * AST + 0.7 * BLK - 0.4 * PF - TOV.) but they don't have a live box score.

Yabs played 48 mins in his first playoff game.

11-25
31 points
13 boards

does he really benefit from playing extended mins in the CBA playoffs or would playing in Maine help more??? i guess we will have to wait for their run to finish to find out.
