Ha--I noticed that too. I'd say he's probably not high on "conscientious" on the personality scale. Means he'll probably always exasperate a bit.

He’ll drop gobble up like 15 boards tonight and some blocks with an emphatic dunk or two and he’ll be in most’s good graces again.

Awful start though. Want to like him but we’re a long way off.

Wow! Can't believe so many people are SO down on the kid. He literally just finished his sophomore year in school, and clearly needs a little more direction and structure. Some kids get "it" early, some don't. By all accounts of Coach Jay however, he gets "it" on the court which is more important to me. I rather hear that RW3 needs an assistant to get him into a routine, than hear he needs on-court tutoring.

Can't believe? This board has always been down on the super athletic - not terribly team oriented/less skilled types. They love team oriented or highly skilled guys.

For example..

Sullinger - Good, Kelly Olynyk - Good. Terry Rozier - bad. IT - bad. Rajon Rondo - Great. Jaylen Brown - bad. RJ Hunter - good. Tatum - good. Goes back a long long way for Celtics fans.

After the whole Fab Melo thing - remember that guy? I can't really blame them..

I like the pick though. You don't need to be a genius to block shots, play D and finish around the hoop. That being said - yeah Fab Melo.

The report I heard is Williams is team oriented. He knows when to help, when to stay home, when and when not to go for the block.

Eyeball test today was impressive. He is a legit talent. Easily the most elite looking athlete that stepped on the courttonight, and I realize that Korkmaz lit it up for 40. I’m ready to forgive all transgressions after his brief stint today. We really did get a steal at 27.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Looking forward to seeing more of Williams tomorrow, if he's able to go.

Aside from the physical skills, it was nice to see the number of picks he set. It's like he was going out of his way to set every pick he could, so I assume this is an example of him following the plan. The nice thing is, he'll get his opportunities to score from pick and roll. Imagine Williams out there with Horford, Tatum, Hayward and Irving. If he sets a pick for Irving and goes to the basket, opponents will need to leave one of those guys to help at the rim. Robert looks quite mobile at 6'10", and if he's opportunistic he'll get some easy buckets with this team.

Robert Williams seems to learn fairly quickly. I mean he did not look lost our there with only two practices under his belt.

Watching him today.. he just looks like a wasted pick to me.. which is unfortunate because he clearly has skills that can help the big team. He did some good things but seemed like he couldn't wait to get off the floor. Doesn't seem to even enjoy being an NBA player. Strange strange demeanor.

Of the many things he has to recommend him, I'm not sure I'd focus on the willing setting of picks.

My clearest memory of Jerome Moiso is of him setting picks in summer league. Even useless players sometimes know how to stand still. :)

That's what Jay said after just one practice, too. And I don't care if they decide to shut him down for the remainder of SL--those 6 minutes we saw confirmed that he can play. I also like that they didn't start him, which means they take getting him on the right commitment and responsibility track really matters to them.

I started happy with the pick and am feeling better about it still after just last night's game.

He looked like he belonged to me last night. Bolden was eating Yabu for lunch. Williams came in and immediately changed the energy of the team. We went on a nice run. He hit a couple shots, rebounded and used his size to bother shots defensively. He is everything this team doesn’t have. I was impressed.
