No matter what happens I still hate that lottery. Don't trust the league.

Unless the Warriors get the record it doesn't matter if they tie it.

Wait, which one rested a healthy HOF center to jump us in the lottery again? Was it the Spurs or the warriors?

Five games broke their way tonight for draft pick or playoff seeding implications.

Five more tomorrow and six on Weds to wrap up. Is eleven more games breaking favorably really possible?

I guess it's possible until it ain't, but, when you put it like that...

Anyway, it's probably even worse. I count 7 tomorrow with playoff or draft pick implications, if you're still holding out hope for the best possible outcomes like I am (3rd seed for us, and Dallas tying WAS for #12).

ATL @ CLE (if we're still aiming to get the #3 seed)
CHA @ BOS (self-explanatory)
WAS @ BRK (self-explanatory)
HOU @ MIN (Houston needs to win out to pass Dallas)
CHI @ NOP (doesn't matter if DAL makes the playoffs, but CHI can still technically finish above them)
DAL @ UTA (self-explanatory)
SAC @ PHO (need one more win out of Phoenix to feel comfortable)

And, following that inclusive logic, you've got about 9 or 10 on Wednesday that could matter.

But, more importantly, it just hit home that there are only three freaking days left in the regular season.

How did that happen?

I have them both finishing around 32-35 wins.

I'm ok with Dallas making the playoffs as Dirk deserves it over Harden who came into the season in terrible shape.

I'm assuming of course that this will help the C's get a top 2 pick with the Brooklyn pick to balance the karma scale.

The Spurs actually tied us by going 40-1. If anything, they probably get the edge, given that 3 of our 40 wins actually took place in Hartford, and not the Garden.

I hope UTA wins tonight...that way DAL can only get to max 42 wins tying MEM and UTA (if UTA wins last game @LAL).
We would get 15th to 17th pick...depends on coin flip.

If DAL wins both they would be on 43 what could in worst case scenario mean a tie with POR/DET/IND (if all 3 does not win a game) and losing coin flip pick would be worst case 20th.

So regardless of DAL making the playoffs or not today UTA:DAL is a huge game.

BUt yes, Im still thinking is it possible SAS bench wins last game in DAL

Asuming starting 5 + Ginobili/Diaw rest!

Mills/Miller
Martin/Simmons
Anderson
West/Bonner
Marjanovic

There is some scoring firepower in Mills+Martin, defense in Marjanovic...who knows, this team is still beter than MEM and MEM was close a few days ago in DAL.

We can hope right

So as some of you might know I have a fairly close connection to the way DA thinks. Early on in his drafting decision making career, he publicly confided, the Celtics drafting board looks nothing like anyone else's board. He stated we got a top five pick for us (Rondo) at twenty one.

The BKN pick is highly desirable trading chip. Everyone desperately wants to draft the next superstar. The DAL pick, wherever it ends up, is the one that gives us the most retention value as compared to its trade value.

I would not be surprised to see him draft a lot of those seconds and create a kind of European survival of the fittest situation. Amir Johnson was a late second that DA spotted and wanted to draft. He couldn't get out of his commitment to Orien Greene. I wouldn't be surprised if we had Johnson in our top ten back then.

@SeanCunningham about 6 hours ago
In addition to DeMarcus Cousins not playing tomorrow night in Phoenix, the Kings will once again be without Omri Casspi and Marco Belinelli

We need at least Gay and one of Collison/Rondo to rest.

The Spurs are at 39-1. They need to win their last home game to tie us. Here's hoping they don't.

Yeah I looked again and it could be more than I originally thought. My original take was as long as the Celtics win their games against Charlotte/Miami, what those teams do on their other games is irrelevant if Boston takes care of business. And I think I'd written off the third seed though looks like that may not be entirely out of the question either.

The weird thing is there are a ton of games still affecting Boston's owed draft picks and playoff seeding, but that their preferred outcome is the favorite in such a large proportion of them.

Washington at Brooklyn and Houston at Minny are the two where the underdog could jump up and cause trouble to my eye.

Dallas missing the playoffs is meaning less and less by the day. Right now I'm hopeful for Utah to win tonight so the Mavs can move back to the 15th spot. But with the Mavs recent win streak and Chicago and Washington having nothing to play for. 14th is likely the best we will be able to do.

Let's hope the Suns win and Brooklyn loses tonight. Then I'm done caring about anything other than playoff seeding.

Return to Boston Celtics
