Agreed.

I'm a UConn fan, so I love Drummond, but I just don't see him being worth either of the Brooklyn picks. Heck, despite his ridiculous blend of size and athleticism, he isn't the best defender, either. The Pistons are 11.6 points better per 100 possessions defensively when he is off the floor.

But man...the Pistons have to be the most disappointing team in the league. I thought they'd be the team that could potentially push us for the 3-seed.

In addition, Detroit's rebounding rate's at its worst when he's on the floor and at its best when he's on the bench. Absurd but true.

This kind of further alludes to his positioning on the floor being off. He is frequently out of place defensively, and the same thing seems to apply on the glass, as well.

I could easily see him dealt this summer.

The chances of Paul George being moved are slim to none. Bird has already said PG-13 is off limits. Same for Drummond, same for KD and all of the other guys on "one and done" deals. The only exception might be CP3 if the Clippers get bounced from the playoffs early. But he's going to be 32 years old in May and he's missed quite a few games with injuries over the past several years. Do you really want to give a boatload of assets for him?

Best part is they paid basically nothing for Jackson but spare parts.

Except for Drummond, everyone on that roster is a spare part.

I see a ton of ways for us to improve - but holding the course is very low-risk. Zizic is looking like a player, will fill a need.
I reluctantly agree that holding the course will happen. I think the best path would be to pay the assets for one star, that would help you to lure another star for free in free agency. But the new salary cap numbers makes it so easy to keep your star players and so hard to trade for them. It seems like Cousins is totally off of the table and Butler is remotely available for a king's ransom. With that in mind I'm personally bein favor of taking a swing at Okafor, now that his trade value is at an all-time low. Low risk, on his rookie contract, in a much better environment, and he provides an important skill.

Joining the thread late so excuse me if this has been discussed ad nauseum.... But any rumors on DeMarcus cousins? Seems like the best target to go after from a talent perspective and a fit for the team perspective. Would be killer front court with horford

He's going to sign a big extension with the Kings. He's getting paid a lot, don't get me wrong, but I think he's nuts to stay there.

It's not worth standing pat for the 2% chance that a big star will become available.

The Celtics have a decent shot at Hayward. He'd be joining a better team and reuniting with his old coach, who's a much better coach than Snyder. I suspect Crowder might have another meltdown if they sign Hayward though.

An untouchable list?

Is that serious? They are 18-24, and the only thing untouchable on the roster is players that I want.

Not interested in KCP. And Drummond is problematic because of his FT shooting. You have to alter how you play with him out there.

Read on Twitter

If we're giving up assets for a rebounder/big, can it be someone who can at least stay on the floor? I just don't know how reliable Bogut is with his recent injury history. He's missed almost half of their games this season.

Just some extra tanking by the Mavs ;-)

I don't want KO in my team for $15 millions. Waste of money.

Rather give this money to Ibaka or Randolph.

Both are PF and Horford is better suited to play PF . We need a center who can protect the paint and rebound.

Olynyk imo is a perfect 6th man...We are really close imo, solid center would give us a few playoff meetings with LeBron in next years. Current starting lineup minus amir...With a bench of smart, brk 17, brown, olynyk, brk 18...We would be kind of waiting for LeBron decline or be one cle big 3 injury away from finals.

The best way imo is to stay pat, use Brooklyn picks and compete.

Well, I think you stand pat because you want to rebuild through the draft. Trades not involving the Nets picks are all fair game.

Agree.. and at the same time just keep hoping Chicago and Indy continue going downhill.
