It’s without question in my top 10 horror films of all time.

Ari Aster, along with Mike Flanagan, are the best horror directors going right now (though James Wan is up there too). Midsommar and Hereditary were probably the 2 most terrifying movies of the past decade or two, IMO. Meanwhile, Flanagan managed to make a sequel to Ouiji a legitimately great horror movie. Everything he touches is great (Haunting at Hill House, Gerald's Game, Hush, Oculus) and I'm so hyped for the 2nd season of Haunting. I also love how he uses so many of the same actors/actresses throughout his movies/shows (Carla Gugino and Henry Thomas to name a couple).

Agree on Aster. He’s not only my favorite horror director but also one of my favorite directors in general. I also love Jennifer Kent, Alex Aja (for guilty pleasures) and the Olpin/Gillett duo. I’m so a huge Peele fan but I know it’s love or hate with people for his films.

As for Flanagan, I enjoy his low key stuff so much more than current stuff. Hush and Occulus were near perfect horror films.

Do we have a place to discuss COVID-19? The US has seriously stumbled every step of the way as far as testing and containment. As of today ~1900 Americans have been tested TOTAL. Compare that to 10,000/day in some other countries. That is gross negligence and people are going to be shocked at what the actual number of cases are in the US once we start really testing.

100,000 cases worldwide as of today (and in reality that number was probably hit weeks ago) and it's only going to continue spreading. I know a large number on here, including myself, are under 60 and healthy, so not as much of a personal medical concern, but this is going to affect day-to-day lives sooner or later. I'm sure everyone on here, whether its parents, grandparents, coworkers, know people in the more seriously affected population. On top of that, if 20% of patients required hospitalization , there's only so many beds available and hospitals will be overbooked QUICKLY if this thing hits projected numbers.

I know I probably sound doom-and-gloom, and things may be overblown to some extent, but people should really take this seriously. At the very least wash your hands and avoid large gatherings.

I binge watched Castlevania season 3 yesterday on Netflix. Probably the best season yet. If you liked the first two you'll certainly like this one.

The music of this love song is creepy enough to be in the opening credits of shows like "The Haunting of Hill House" or movies like "Only Lovers Left Alive." That's probably why I like it so much :D

Speaking of "The Haunting of Hill House," the second season is coming and the title is "The Haunting of Bly Manor." Unfortunately, Carla Gugino is not returning. Oliver Jackson-Cohen, one of the worst actors I've seen in many years, is.

My daughter and I loved it. IMO, the most emotional Pixar film yet. I was a mess. Lol

Caught The Invisible Man as well and I was shocked how good it was. Expected nothing and got my favorite horror film so far this year.

Yea I was too haha. As far as invisible man goes I wish I went in with low expectations. I read some reviews and wanted to see it and I was underwhelmed. Either way glad you enjoyed both movies.

1. Seeing the Sandy Denny mention - just came across Jackson C. Frank, who apparently dated her - you all probably know this song:

But his biography is unreal.. he was burned over half his body as an elementary school student.. had some brief success in his early 20's in England before he ran out of money and came back to the U.S., where his mental health went south.. spent a lot of years homeless and in and out of mental hospitals.. later in life he lost sight in his left eye after he was shot with a pellet gun.. died at 56. Book of Job stuff.. and a hugely talented songwriter..

2. Streamed "Freaks" on Netflix - it's not Mike Flanagan level, I guess, but really well-done B-movie sci-fi w/ Emile Hirsch, Bruce Dern..

Watched Guns Akimbo last night. Fun movie. Crazy to me how Radcliffe and Elijah Wood have reinvented themselves into these genre actors. As a fan of horror and cult, I love it. Also...Samara Weaving is everything

A lot to like. Atmospheric, very well acted. Bends genres and then some. Might frustrate some people in the end.

Oh sheeeeet, Danny Carey is the greatest. Nice outfit too.

The Melbourne show I went to a couple weeks back would go close to the best live show I have ever been to. Absolutely incredible.
