last year early on, Nesmith had the same "off balance" and weak drives. Europe is soft. he needs to stay and learn.

Yam Madar comes back down to earth.
Fernando looked pretty good. That was a nice play when he put the ball on the floor with his left hand and took it to the rim. Hope they keep him.

Nesmith was in the zone offensively. Now if he improves his defense on the ball, the Celtics could really have something.

Langford had that loud dunk and make a trey, but otherwise he was unimpressive.

Thoughts:
Edwards just grates on my nerves. Even when he plays good, he's still a negative. PLEASE LET HIM GO!!!!!
Pritchard is a man playing among boys out there.
Neismith showed us why they picked him last year!!!! He does need to work on his D though. Too many guys just blew right by him
The C's need to put out a missing Man bulletin for Yam Mader.
Romeo had a couple of nice plays, but otherwise very invisible
Fernando the Bull looks very promising!!!
The rest didn't do much to merit much attention
Ainge is still working for the C's (undercover perhaps, but he's sitll there!!!!)

I actually think this kind of lead role competition is fantastic for Nesmith and Pritchard. I'd like to see them groove this with a few more games and they'll be ready to light up training camp before rolling into the season. There was too much of them having to defer to their teammates last season and I think it is good for them to recover fully from that.

But yeah, PP and AN look like graduates trying to go back to a lower level of school, whereas CE still hasn't learned his lessons at this level.

He lacks confidence. This is good for him. Another game like this and he comes in the league thinking he can bend over backwards anyone.

PP though should play less. You do need someone to be settingg up everyone though and Yam isnt quite that

At some point last year, I feel Nesmith went from lack of confidence to having quite a bit. Won't say he couldn't use more, but I believe he will be fine either way. I see him as a major piece going forward. Don't want to risk it.

Nesmith played fantastic but Scal and the crew were crapping over him for his defense the whole game. He dominated on offense and played uneven defense and it was the defense they harped on the whole game. I think his focus this game was to bounce back on offense. Defense wasn’t his focus today. Yeah, you want to see the total package, but his defense was serviceable last year and he did what Brad asked him to do.

It's safe to say that we have all been bamboozled when Carsen made 8 threes against the Cavs

You need to focus on defense every game.

I loved Nesmith's offense today, but it did look like he got beat defensively a few times.

Similar deal with Pritchard. Great offensively, especially with doing a better job this game of driving into the lane and kicking it out to the open shooter. But didn't impress on D, including one play where he got caught ball watching while his man faded to the corner, leaving him open for a 3.

Like others have said, Langford had that awesome highlight reel dunk, but not much other than that. Tonight it was the big dunk, and in the first game it was the game winning 3. He's had 1 huge play in both games, but has lacked consistency. Maybe 1 of these summer league games he'll put it all together and really start taking his game to the next level.

Begarin with that nice dribble drive move into the step back jumper. But again, like the other game he did look a little slow compared to some of his highlight vids from overseas. Hopefully we can work with him on getting in better shape. He literally just turned 19 so there's plenty of time for him to develop his game and body.

Tough game for Madar. A learning experience for him, and an experience that will make him better. Will be interesting to see how he bounces back on Thursday - he seems like a really competitive guy so I bet he really comes out focused to have a better game.

Fernando - I liked what I saw, he seemed pretty comfortable/confident out there, especially given the fact that he only had 1 (or maybe 0) practices with the team. You have to like his size, big strong dude and showed flashes on a couple of plays of being able to put the ball on the floor from the perimeter, scoring on 1 play and then another play nice dish to Langford for his crazy dunk

Cool to get a blowout win, even though it's just summer league..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Safe to say everyone had a boner for Nesmith tonight but hey, he finds himself on the offensive players hip a lot. Obviously the good outweighed the bad, but it could prevent him from seeing the floor as consistently as he otherwise could. It's pretty consistent him getting beat off the dribble.

stop. Pritchard is a plus defender. You just have to take the L. He's tiers above Madar as a player. Begarin isn't "slow" like people have claimed. He's a 19 y/o who is a PG forced to play off ball, in a huge step up in leagues. He doesn't know our system or players and he's tentative. That's to be expected. At least he's in control. When he's decisive because he's confident in what he needs to do or where he needs to be, he's flashed plus plus athleticism. I don't think BOS is a good fit for him. I don't think they'll develop him as the PG he's best suited for and forcing him to play off ball negates what makes him so special. Nesmith finally put in position to succeed which is just running around getting C&S threes and when contested, showing the ability to drive and score or kick, on occasion. He's a capable defender who can switch onto 1 and 3s within reason. His offense is too good to keep off the floor. He's basically a better Duncan Robinson because he's a better defender. He'll laughably be coming off the bench is my guess.

Great games by Pritchard and Nesmith.

Nesmith needed this one after a bad first game. Love to see that for him so he can build more and more confidence. A few days ago I said on this thread that Nesmith has a chance to be a really good player in this league in a few years. It's only summer league, but it was still really nice to see.

Bruno also played well.

Still early but I'm not liking the Begarin pick at all. I wanted Kessler but he went one before us. Also wanted Jericho Sims or even Garza.

Defend with purpose in the NBA games? Absolutely. Agree a hundred percent.

But in summer, I won’t fault a guy for being a step slow on one end. He was good on the boards and he tried to take a charge. It wasn’t all bad. It was just a bit of a bummer to hear constant critiques whilst he was scorching the rims. Ideally, we’d like to see guys go balls-to-the-wall for the full game on both ends but I like to temper my expectations for these exhibitions.

Nesmith jumper is so good that even i he’s an average defender at best, he’s still immensely valuable and will be hard to keep off the court at times this year.
