Steph Curry won 4 rings with Centers like Bogut, Pachulia, and Looney.
Brad does not need to find another star Center, just the right fit.

That's just sad.
lol how is that sad? Two solid players he wants back
People are putting too much stock in Brad's comment.
Of course he's going to say that. What did you expect? "Nah, we don't want those chumps"
What Brad says he wants and what actually happens are two different things.

I dont even think that was the case here. He said we want them back and why wouldn’t we? Two good players. I do t understand why it’s sad to say we want them back.

yeah i agree with you. it's not sad, it's the obvious thing to say, and probably even true. why wouldn't we want them back?
whether that's actually brad's top priority or main focus right now, i'm not convinced at all.

Is Curry not one of the best players of all time and a statistical anomaly?
Jesus. Who do the Celtics have that is on prime Curry level?

Goes without saying he wants those guys back. Beyond the obvious that he loves those guys and they have played here outperforming on below market deals, the team has maybe two roster guys that play the 4 and the 5 total.
Edit: My apologies Xavier Tillman, I literally forgot all about you.

This will be his 3rd year with the Cs.

Absolutely. I think he offers more than many think. He needs to be more aggressive in finishing at the rim.

Rebounding was atrocious last year and was probably the single biggest reason they lost in the playoffs.
So yes let's double down and bring back the same bigs. Totally makes sense.
Im still waiting for what the alternative is. What is the plan for C and PF? I am totally with Brad's stealth ways to get things done. But at some point there needs to be more going on here. So signing Kornet and Horford isn't even the bare minimum to me

Re: 2025 Offseason Trade and Free Agency Thread (The Fun Never Stops Edition)
Just for the record, KP only played 3 games in the 1st round in 2024 and only had 1 great game against the Mavs in the Finals.
Basically the Cs went through almost the entire playoffs without KP.
While KP is a difference maker, like what he did in Game 1 of the Finals, KP didn't really impact the whole 2024 playoff run and was horrible in this year's playoffs.
And as it stands right now, the Cs have no option of getting a star big man because of cap reasons.
Next best thing is to find a big man who is the right fit.

Fair to say Curry is a special kind of fit

Bringing them back is fine by me. Best way toward the lottery.

Trade Anfernee Simons into someone's cap space for a pick. Please.

Point is it doesn't have to be a star Center.
There's also no way of getting a star Center now because of cap reasons.
Let's not forget the Cs got KP through the old CBA.

Cs will need his scoring in JT's absence.
Wait and see then trade at the deadline if it's not working out.
No need to rush in trading Simons.

What hinders Queta is he has absolutely zero touch at the rim. If it isn’t a dunk, he’s completely useless in the paint. If he could get one of those little push shots you see from Hartenstein or Richaun Holmes, it would be a great start. But he has zero bag right now.

How many teams could even do this? Why would a bad team want to give up their pick?

Simons can do what Poole did for GSW in 2022.
Would GSW win a chip without Poole in 2022?

Agree we don’t need stars at that position. Just Dawgs that can play.
Jordan Walsh goes top 10 in a 2023 redraft.

100%
Maybe that's why Brad drafted some toughness in Hugo.
And if the Cs draft Broome, that's a guy with a low ceiling but a dawg!
