Rondo and Reggie Jackson starting in the backcourt would be fun to watch. Two young, fast, athletic players with very long arms. Ray coming off the bench along with Jeff Green would make our bench a lot stronger.

Jackson would make sense in Boston because he would not cost too much. I would prefer JR Smith starting next to Rondo with Ray off the bench but Smith would cost us a lot more than Jackson. Also getting Smith would make it harder to sign a huge FA in 2012.

Either way, it looks like Reggie Jackson has a promise to OKC.

theres no way in hell Ray is coming off the bench for Reggie Jackson.

With the prospects of big men like Nikola Vuvecic and Jeremy Tyler still being on the board at #25, the thought that the Celtics would guarantee PG Reggie Jackson leads me to believe that Rajon Rondo is seriously on the block.

First of all anyone who thinks Reggie Jackson can't shoot needs get in the hot tub it is 2011 guy killed 42% from 3 and 55% from 2.

His promise is from Miami at 31 and everyone is trying to screw with that for all the right reasons he is exactly what they need and it is worth burning a first to stop it.

Sully where are you getting Jackson has a promise from Miami? Do you have a source or just trying to add things up?

Chad Ford: Bottom line. He's got a promise. It's not Celtics, Nets or Blazers. It's Heat at 31. But it doesn't stop a team from drafting him higher yesterday

If Miami gets him, what is the plan there? cut bibby, start chalmers, and have reggie back chalmers up?

Why do Miami care the PLAN for a #31 pick? I don't see it. They just try to get a good player at #31. This is a very solid move.

It is very REASONABLE to gamble on Jackson to improve from bibby or chalmers.

If Jackson could not beat Bibby or chalmers, so be it.

I really don't know why people always said, the team has player X and Y, now you add player Z, what's the plan?

What's the plan when Danny draft Baby when Celtics had Leon? It backfired? It served Celtics VERY WELL

That's your ego talking. Let go off your ego. Some like Reggie Jackson could easily start on this team and play about 16 minutes a game. Ray would still get about 32.

Jason Terry is better that DeShawn Stephenson, yet he comes off the bench and scores about 20 a game.

Vucecic, Tyler, and JuJuan Johnson are the bigs that I want the Celtics to take. There is a good chance that both Vuvecic and Tyler will be gone before we pick. It seems the rumor of Reggie Jackson getting a promise from the Celtics is false.

Draftexpress is down with the Jackson to Miami thing as well. Early on in the process he seemed to jump on staying the draft when people didn't really have a feel for him as a 1st rounder and then he sort of bailed on workouts, that ended up being because of the knee. So it was pretty obvious he had what Fredette didn't have last season and that was a comfortable floor for him to stay in the draft.

If you look at the bottom of the draft it is Wolves, Bulls, Nets, Spurs and there not likely to promise a combo guard. While Boston has been in the promise business as far as getting guys to stay in the draft or shut down workouts. That said CHI might want to stick it to Miami and could look to use Jackson at the 2 as well as behind Rose.

I wouldn't mind Boston drafting him just because I would rather a guard who can play over a big who can't but it certainly doesn't make sense that Boston would promise him especially since Ainge is probably shopping the pick the pretty hard.

Reggie is a real good ball player and so there is no reason he couldn't go in that 20-25 range in a draft filled with sight unseen or what has been seen isn't very good.
