Our roster looks more balanced to me than last season at this time.

Lot of moving parts roster spots 12-15 is all I meant

Everyone, even the reputable guys, are pointing towards this weekend as being some sort of milestone. I know the Celtics are, for the most part, pulling out of Las Vegas today. Not that it changes things, but certainly easier to get stuff done.

I heard from one guy, who isn't exactly a true source, that Ainge, Zarren and Stevens were not going right back to Boston but would be going to LA first. Now that doesn't mean a whole lot because I know for a fact that Doc is in Orlando right now with his family.

My educated guess is that something happens this weekend, but we'll see.

Any idea what the significance of this weekend is on the calendar?

End of Summer League. Last time everyone is in the last place for a while. And the last time to really get stuff done before the Olympics get cranked up in a couple of weeks.

Almost impossible to stand pat. Need to clear up the glut of guards on this team. They have one talented big man, Horford. I'm sure he didn't sign here to play with the 2015-2016 version of the Boston Celtics. Something will happen.

Doesn't Westbrook also live in L.A.-?

I don't know how much I believe that they are even going to LA. But who knows? Maybe they are picking someone up to bring him back to LA with them.

Unless something changed in the CBA teams definitely cannot meet with players under contract even with permission. The negotiation has to be with the team.

And a lot of top rookies haven't signed deals yet not just Brown. Probably because they are waiting to get back from Orlando/LV.

Link? Because the only things I am finding shows it would violate tampering rules in the CBA unless it's changed since. I think this is from 2011.

109. What is tampering?

Tampering is when a player or team directly or indirectly entices, induces or persuades anybody (player, general manager, etc.) who is under contract with another team in order to negotiate for their services. The NBA may impose suspensions and/or fines up to $50,000 if tampering is discovered, however the league's practice has been to wait until a team lodges a complaint before investigating (but that's not to say they don't continue to monitor the league and won't take action independently if they discover that tampering has occurred). Here are some examples:

I don't think it counts as tampering if they have the other team's permission.

Doc wouldn't be lodging a complaint, nor would Presti if it's Westbrook related

I don't think it matters either way and any team in the league can contact the league about it not just the teams involved. There is no reason for the league to allow it because there is no need to when all discussions can and should take place between both teams. Cuban could file the complaint about it if he wanted to. Or more likely some East team.

Worst case even if you are correct is the Celtics would get a fine, no big deal

Worst case would be the league vetoing a trade. Like they did with Chris Paul. Except here they would have an incredibly easy time justifying doing so.
