Actually the free agent market looks more promising than the buyout market, depending on which guys playing overseas have NBA buyout clauses.

The following UFAs appear to be simply sitting at home:

Justin Patton, 7-0, 23 years old, just waived
Tyler Zeller. 30 years old
Marcin Gortat 35 years old
Michael Beasley 31 years old
Ryan Anderson Still only 31 years old
Corey Brewer 33 years old
Darren Collison umored headed to the Lakers
Tyreke Evans 30 years old
Jeff Green 33 years old

I'm not advocating that the Celtics pick up any UFA, but if any of the guys above are still in shape, they are as good as any of the buyout candidates we've been discussing

Buyout guy wouldn't help much in the playoffs, but could be relievers/depth the rest of the regular season. All they'd need to be is be better than Javonte Green, who we'd have to waive in order to sign them. Not a high bar.

But if Semi/Grant/Langford continue to show out, our starters can stay healthy, and Boo-Butt can get back on track, we may not need to add another guy.

Marvin Williams is my guy too. Shooter from swing position. Decent defender. Kemba connection. Solid vet. Has never played less than 75 games with the Hornets (availability is the best ability, esp. with the Hospital Celtics). Problem is he's not even rumored to be bought out. He's still playing significant backup minutes for the Hornets. The guy that's out of rotation they might buy out is MKG.

I'd like to see Langford harrassing Trae Young tonight. Romeo looks good on defense.

Wayne Ellington would be great if he will be bought out.

I wish I could find the threads proclaiming MKG the next Jordan and Harrison Barnes a superstar.

And Jeff Green in the Gerald Green redemption role?

Ha! No, I don't want any more player recycling from this pile.

In the words of Rocky's manager Mickey (regarding Poirier) He's a Bum.

That's the guy you cut.

Evan Turner discussing buyout with the Wolves. Lukewarm on the idea of bringing him back.

Javonte is who we’ll cut. Guessing we sign ET. Dont think we’re looking at anyone else.

Doubt TT gets bought out. No one else is worth it.

Ainge said the guy he's eyeballing on the buyout market-

1) might not be bought out at all, and if he is bought out...

2) would be the subject of fierce competition to be signed.

Evan Turner fits neither of those criteria.

I'd assume he was hinting at Tristan Thompson or Marvin Williams. Tristan is a better fit, but Marvin would give the Celtics three guys named Williams, and that's hard to resist.
