I played on a partially healed ligament ten days after a tear in my younger years. It was a final, and I didn't want to miss it. Got a physio mate to strap me up really well, took some painkillers, the works.
20 years later I still get pain in that ankle when it's cold...lol Nothing extreme, but it lets me know.

And whilst I contributed, I really struggled with my jump-shot. The strapping just threw my balance. I took a couple of big charges, because I literally couldn't move out of the way (and I maybe flopped a little). And then the opposition centre absolutely dunked right on my head (I'm a 6 footer). The one time I've seriously copped a tea-bag in game.

I got drunk after the game, and my ankle was a balloon the next day.

Fun times.

My source reads Rotoworld and also confirmed with this sentence "but the reality is that he's dealing with a Grade 3 sprain, which means he experienced a full tear of his ankle ligaments" and tells me that is what a Grade 3 sprain means... always. So yeah they confirmed we won't be seeing Hayward anytime soon but hopefully at the start of next season.

Yeah he's done for the season and isn't returning to the bubble.

I still play twice a week, and was coaching too...although COVID has scuttled that right now.

Oh, to be clear, it's not possible to 'gut through' that sort of injury at an NBA level.
I was playing in a rec league two levels lower than normal, and went from our second best player to a complete liability. But we were shorthanded and I had 5 fouls and a plucky attitude. Plus we played zone. I just had to force my man to help.

At any moderately capable level I would have given up ten points in 2 minutes and been benched.

My little sister would have been as useful, and she doesn't even hoop.

These teams are as evenly matched as you can get. Just one piece can tip the balance and I think Hayward is that missing piece for the Celtics. And I love him coming off the bench and closing.

Not going to hate on Hayward anymore.

Dude decided to remain in the bubble, that was my only issue with him.

He has spent most of his time with the Celtics in rehab or sidelined by other issues.

Now let's play ball!

Hayward is the best play maker on the team
Hayward is the smartest player on the team
Hayward is essential going forward beyond this year.... rework the contract and extend....

The 117.0 offensive rating we set in game 3 is the Celtics' highest ORtg since game 2 of the Philly series.

More credit should go to the aggressiveness of Jaylen, Jayson, and co. though. The 30 FTs we took were the most by the Celtics in this postseason. The 60 points in the paint are also the most we scored in the playoffs. We were averaging 44.3 drives per game entering game 3. We drove 58 times last night. Jaylen alone had 19.

We are undefeated in the playoffs with Hayward + the green jerseys. Time to start a new streak as the black jersey streak was short-lived. No jinx intended.

Forget about streaks, the black jerseys are garbage. We're the BOSTON CELTICS. Why the hell are we wearing black jerseys?

And yes, I get that it's about selling jerseys. But at some point, shouldn't the fact that we're the Boston Celtics, and the Boston Celtics have a tradition, outweigh the fact that 8-year old boys think black looks cool?

I personally prefer the green jerseys myself.

Hayward def exceeded my expectations last night. I have no problem trying to keep him, the issue is he’s not worth a max contract and may end up getting more elsewhere then we are willing to give.
