I think the team knows they’re better than Miami & they got clapped taking them lightly when they got the lead. Hopefully they learned their lesson

Heat shot 44% from 3 and we got killed in the paint.

Very stagnant on O. Relied on Smart 3s and Tatum supernova to keep us in it. When that went away we were hosed. Need more ball and body movement.

He played insane defense, caused double teams which led others to wide open shots and the ISOs, while we as fans of his who believe he's a budding superstar, are as much about coaching (or lack thereof) as him. It's a lot to put on a 22 y/o in the ECF. He got clean looks but they just didn't drop. 30-14-5 with 3 steals and 2 blocks are AD, Lebron, Giannis, Kawhi type numbers. He'll learn from this but I wouldn't put much blame on him at all. He's the best player on the floor bar none.

Like what? They had the ball in the hands of a guy who can get his shot over anyone and he took the potential GW shot as time expired. It was a makeable shot.

You take the highest percentage shots to win games on last possessions when you're tied. You should only think about deep threes when you're down three, or maybe if you're down 2 and can't get anything inside. You have to always look inside first in that situation. We just stood there and let them set their defense as we wound down clock and chucked it. That shot was too deep, even for Tatum. No way he hits shots from there at a better clip than closer to the line.

That was an absolutely ridiculous shot. No idea why were shooting 30 foot step backs when tied. It’s like we’re purposely playing for overtime because we know we’re gonna miss and don’t want to give them any time left

Oh and they wasted a Smart offense game.. Which always sucks. I'm not too pissed because they got what they deserve. If the Heat get open threes all series Celtics are losing in 4-5 games.. They have shooters up and down the roster.

The difference is Theis get hit with phantom fouls and it's basically impossible for Adebayo to be called for one.

I don’t understand why Theis kept fouling Bam 20 feet from the basket.

Exactly! If Tatum tried to drive earlier, he would have seen Smart wide open on the left side, for a possible lob to theis. The problem is, Tatum has poor handles lately, and might lose the ball if he tries to dribble. You could see he was gassed, he should have shot the ball inside the arc.

Tatum deserved that block with all the selfish iso's. Got humbled big time.

Kemba...woof. We're getting a preview of the later years of that contract and it ain't pretty.

Stevens is an average NBA coach at best. He's below average on the offensive side of the ball. There may be a point in the not too distant future when getting rid of him is the key to taking the next step. Danny should make him add an experienced assistant this offseason.

Ya I wouldn't call his defense "insane," he has at least one miscommunication with kemba leading to a wide open crowder three. He fouled Butler on that last drive. Dont get me wrong, he was good this game, one of the reasons the c's were in it at all. But he's already proven he's good, if you're gonna get a label superstar you have to hit a shot in your last twelve minutes of playing time.

The Comedian wrote:Tatum got wherever he want on the court, which makes some of those shots he took even worse. Struggled down the stretch, but put up 30/14/5 with great defense.

Kemba was a disaster, Jaylen was invisible and played poor defense. Smart hit threes but didn’t play as well as his stat like.

Still love the Celtics in 6.

Don't agree on Brown or Smart. Brown did a job and clearly didn't have a lot of play run through him. Smart didn't seem to have as many big time defensive moments but maybe Wanamaker got there first. Don't think either were poor, but both definitely have scope to lift. Sometimes it's your opponent though that plays well.

I really don't mind his stepback threes. But he was taking them a foot or more farther than usual. His shots ended up short on most of them.

Yup. Should have won the game there and then. Too many isolations at the end of the game. Just weird.

The other big difference is one put up 18/9/6 and a game saving block while the other put up 4/4/3. Single game plus minus is meaningless.
