Sorry but not sorry.
I'm watching Cleveland game and I'm saying the same thing while watching Mitchell. Tatum settles for 3's and fall aways while Mitchell is driving and getting to the line. When I watch other teams play us I always wonder why they have players that seem more aggressive and play with a ton of heart. I believe we were like that with Tatum and Brown when they were trying to prove themselves. We have become soft......and I believe this has come to the 3 point philosophy and our current culture.
3's are great when they fall, but when they don't it doesn't put any pressure on the other team. We need to apply pressure on teams and get more trips to the line which will make those 20 point leads turn into 30 point leads.
I'm not pleased with the current culture. The bring your kid to work day is something that bothers me. Now don't get me wrong....I've met Deuce and I think he's a great kid. The kids are in the locker room before and after the game, on the floor during warmups and even on the bench. I understand what the NBA and the Celtics are trying to promote but along with basketball being a physical skill, it is equally a game of mental concentration and focus. Our locker room and culture have turned into a Chuck E Cheese themed restaurant. There are people that will probably disagree with me but I feel this is why we have a better road record vs. home record. On the road we seem more focused and determined. Hopefully we will see the Celtics get back to business as usual tomorrow.
