Woj saying deal is just hanging on which pick to give up..

Would have to think '15 Clips would be ideal, '14 Hawks/Nets would be secondary...

You never know, if DA has something else up his sleeve in a win-now move, ours could go.. but I would HATE to see that

'15 Clips, Bass, Lee.. hold firm and I think they cave

Didnt th globe just say like 20 minutes ago that nothing was happening.

How about a future first that's protected and eventually turns into second rounders if it u
Isn't used.

I really dot wanna give up a pick. I may be over valuing them but the less we have than the less chances we hit on them.

My impression of Gary's sourcing is that he's got some NBA sources back from his years covering the NBA on the west coast but no inside scoop on the Cs. Prolly just regurgitating Woj, that's a very Gary move.

Yeah, then he just throws in the "reluctant to give up '14 pick" to put his own little spin on it. Oh well.

Maybe Woj is just regurgitation Gary. LOL.

Gary Washburn reading a tweet on his couch like one of us, then posting "hearing" is pretty much websters definition of what we've gone through with celtics beat reporters for more than a minute now.

I liked spears tho.

If we get Asik, with Rondo coming back in a couple weeks we will probably be a 3rd or 4th seed in the East and that pick goes straight to **** anyways. But yea the Clippers pick would be much better.

Or just put protection on the pick.

keep in mind that we cannot protect another team's pick.

I agree to an extent, but you also don't want to overpay for a player like Asik.

Sounds like this is done pending pinning down the pick. Great move. Love the frontline of Asik and Sully. Asik provides the D and Sully provides the O. That's how you build.

Why not? The trade could include the Clips 2015 pick - lotto protected - and if it's a lotto pick they get the worst of our 2016 picks. Is there actually precedence here or are you just speculating?

Those two would comprise one of the game's best rebounding frontcourts, too. Awesome.

Marshall would be like: "Celtics debating whether or not to move Rondo in Asik deal."

I think the point is that the 2014 draft is stacked and players will be available in the 20s that in not so years would be drafted in the teens. So why trade away two of those picks? Give them the clippers pick or let it die. Maybe our 2015 pick but none of the nets ones. Including the one we can swap with them.
