With 28 games to play, we've beaten every team except the following:
• Indiana - 2 more chances
• Houston - 1 more chance

And we've yet to play:
• Utah - 2 chances
• Portland - 2 chances
• Minnesota - 2 chances

We haven't beaten every team at least once since the 2008 season IINM.

File under weird trend that probably doesn't mean anything since +/- is a **** stat:

2018-19 - When Gordon Hayward had a positive +/-, Celtics were 34-6; 10-22 otherwise. He mostly came off the bench.
2019-20 - When Gordon Hayward had a positive +/-, Celtics were 25-1, 0-11 otherwise. He started all 37 games.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

In terms of talent and roster construction, I think we're kind of similar to a lot of NBA teams that genuinely contended for (and occasionally won) NBA championships on the basis of having a large collection of very talented players and really good team defense instead of one or two MVP-level players: the Blazers and Kings in the early 2000's, the Spurs between prime Duncan and prime Kawhi, the Sonics in both the 70's and the 90's, the Pistons in the mid 2000's, etc. These collection of talent teams are kind of rare because it's hard to acquire and keep so many good players on one team, but it's definitely a legit model for contention that occasionally ends up working out and resulting in a championship.

Lol at all of us getting together on this Valentine's Day to just drag people on the GB for bad takes and terrible bets. I love all of you.

Houston's a challenge, but it's a home game. (And the leap year day game I'm projecting Rob's return for.)

On Valentines Day, Al isn't the Horford sibling I'd think of.

Tacko, Tatum, and Kemba in Chicago. Grant and SexPants in Bahamas. Jaylen in Havana. Where are you spending your All-Star Weekend?

Given the time he's missed, how good could Time Lord be by the time the postseason rolls around?

Great find. Longer version in the video below.

Everybody knows the general story, but details I didn't know included:
-- Actually, about half Bird's baskets were right-handed.
-- The game was a 1-pt overtime win on the road.
-- No prize for guessing who made the final Celtics baskets of regulation and overtime.
-- Without checking the box score, I presume from his absence in the video that McHale missed the game.

Pretty much confirms what I believe. He doesn’t move the needle for us. He gets carried by the team’s success and dragged down when the team does poorly. For this team to be all it can, he has to become the guy who can be counted on to carry the team as a scorer when other stars are having bad games or injured. It’s great that he can defer and be a glue guy .... but at times he has to be an all star too. On a positive note, he was that for 1/6 periods against Clippers. Need to see it more consistently.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Kemba's:

22-0 when he's +5
31-3 when he's >= 0
1-11 when he's <= 0

Pretty much same as Gordo's.

Celtics when Hayward is ON floor, Jays/Kemba OFF: +12.7. So he can carry team just fine when given the opportunity.
Celtics when Brown is ON floor, G/Kemba/Tatum OFF: -0.3

If I would read anything into this, I think we lose when we lose the minutes our top 3 or 4 guys are on the floor, mostly against the top teams and usually when we're shorthanded. I don't think our bench is deep/good enough to erase deficits most nights even when sprinkled in with one or two starters.
