It’s funny, because his new game actually reminds me of Beals.

But he’s younger, cheaper, and better defensively.

The plan should be to add him to jb and jt

Beal or another star. Plus some bench stuff. We are right there.

Best player on the team. Has the fire that Tatum doesn't. Stats and kobe step backs can be fools gold.
I don't believe in statistics. There are too many factors that can't be measured. You can't measure a ballplayer's heart. -Red Auerbach

The man keeps exceeding my expectations. Love seeing it. Very happy we didn’t trade him for Harden.

OK, I am here. I underestimated how hard Jaylen would work himself into a player. Took like 13 years to eat it on something, but I missed there. With that said, Tatum has more tools in the box. relative to Tatum, Jaylen's handle still a bit suspect, and he can't close games nearly as well because of his lack of FT shooting and lesser playmaking, and also because Tatum has more length and can get his shot up over pretty much anyone.

Tatum is shaping up as a true triple threat, and gets the tougher defenders, plus double-teams. Props to Jaylen for closing what was a fairly large gap until now.

People keep getting proven wrong with JB, even Boston fans. Truth is his ceiling is incredibly high, like MVP high, if he keeps improving the way he has. How many two way players can do what he does? He’s already one of the best players in the league. Not many I would take before him and he’s still getting better.

One thing you can say about both guys right now is that they are poised with good mental makeup. Very even-keeled. If I had to pick one for "fire", I go Tatum, but at the least definitely do not see a advantage to Jaylen there.

The fact that there can even be a (slight?) argument is a testament to how much Jaylen improved.

Stats can be fools gold of course, their raw stats are very similar. The biggest difference is Tatum makes the team much, much better when on the court, the sample on that is MASSIVE lol. That’s where JB has some catching up to do. That’s almost always the clear cut sign of being an elite player. I think he is starting to get there, which is awesome for the team.

Jaylen is clearly more equipped to be a team leader, though.

Fire and Ice. Jaylen plays more fiery with his aggressive style of play, while Tatum is as cold-blooded as they come, hitting dozens of clutch shots for us already since his rookie year.

The confidence he is playing with is insane, and sexy. To say he’s making scoring look easy would be a pretty big understatement.

It's rare that you see a player continue to work and improve this much every single off season. Reminds me of McHale, he never stopped adding to his arsenal. Imagine what Ben Simmons could be if he had this attitude.

I'm not sure if this comment is fair to Tatum. I've seen plenty of fire and passion from JT. Yes, he's calm, cool, and collected, but he shows emotion too.

What's your beef with JT?

I don’t want to put words in his mouth, but I’m thinking he means it more as a compliment to Jaylen than a sleight at Tatum.

Tatum is already a top 10 player, and will likely be top 5. So if Jaylen ends up better than that, I’d be ecstatic, as we would win multiple championships lol. I just think top 15 is more likely, and more than good enough if Danny gets them some help.

I know you've come up from like top 25 but you're gonna have to move your projection up again. JB will crack the ten eventually as some of these other vet stars trickle out of the league or just fade away.

IMO Tatum is on the fringe but not top 10 yet.

If he keeps this up I’ll have to bump it up to MVP tier lol. I think he will settle in around 24-25/6.5/3.5 when the season is over, which is 3rd team all nba numbers, which I just didn’t think he would be able to do. Couldn’t be happier to be wrong about his upside.

And yeah I have Tatum 10th, but anywhere from 10-13 seems fair.

That sounds about right. Especially with the league wide spike in points/game, don't think having Walker back will change a lot.

It's funny that any superstar rental trade that Danny "missed" on would have 100% included Jaylen and we'd be getting raped for it on the GB right now.
