Same reason Theis would have started over Turner.

That and Theis is really **** good.

There is an argument for verticality on offense with Smart starting though (if he is) to play TT and sacrifice the defense and hope Smart makes up for the defensive sacrifice there to make it worth it to start TT over Theis.

I think we can all safely say that Theis isn’t a good starter on a contender, after that disaster of a series against the heat. He is a good back up though. I would definitely start Turner and TT over him.

He's still soundly better than TT and Turner. Which is whom his competition in this conversation was. Or at the very least TT is.

Nah! Theis is just a hard worker. I have seen enough of him passing the ball with only butler guarding him 3 feet of the basket. He just doesn’t know what to do with the ball on his own. At least TT can’t be bullied by Bam. Turner is a better offensive player than Theis, and a better shot blocker on the block.

Now I've got my heart set on Bogi after one rumor. He'd be a great addition to this lineup. It would raaaaain threes all season for Boston!

is much more important to get someone like bogdanovic to fill hayward position than a random center that will not impact the game at all.

I wish but NO is trying to do some things this year so I doubt they would want to move him.

Yeah... why would we want the $27 mil Batum.

I mean we are the one's being bent over, they can always just waive Batum and we get nothing... but idk.

We already committed money to TT and Teague

The TPE is what we want. Idk ewh.

I don't want to have to keep in the luxury tax counter on our team just to have an expiring like Batum on the roster eating up minutes and/or space.

Well, if we took that deal, I would assume they would be compensating us. How much would they give up to avoid 9 million on their books for the next 3 years. I know they can waive and stretch, but 27 million dollars would be a lot of money to save.

But we already agreed on a deal with Thompson, which would seem to take that possibility away even if we wanted to do that right?

idk if they waive and stretch and don't pay lux tax. And just committed maxish contracts to Rozier and Hayward... do they care?

Are they going to be able to sign ANYONE next year when every team in the league has money? The year after when they still won't be in the playoffs?

I'm not sure how much they care about it.

Like if you decide to massively overpay for Hayward I think it's saying you acknowledge you can't sign anyone with cap room so **** it.

Why do we have Smart starting when we are getting AD in the TPE?

and at halftime Rondo storms the court and hits LBJ over the head with a chair and sweet chin musics the coach...

sounds like WWE plot.

My one concern after seeing the Celtics play against the zone in the playoffs is

Kemba / Teague / Pritchard
Smart / Langford
Brown / Semi / Nesmith
Tatum / G.Williams
TT / Theis / R.Williams

The players in red in that rotation have confirmed they can't shoot.

And Pritchard has as much hype as Edwards did about his shooting ability so he's suspect until proven in that area. Not that he'd see any minutes now with Teague on board.

Marcus Smart is borderline these days with his 3 point shooting though. Almost average which is what you need.

I won't stand for this smart and g.williams slander

We could technically order the operations to acquire Batum first, stretch him ourselves or trade him for less than ~21 mil, then still spend the full MLE. I just don't see any reason to do that - any way it actually comes out positive value for us. Doubt CHA wants to send us enough picks to make it worth our while to stretch Batum for them. Doubt we could trade him productively.

I just don't see the angle.

4 for $80 for bogdanovich. Trade out a first or Two for him. Hell, I would give them Pritchard or Romeo.

Let us have a little hope while we can! Then again this pretty much describes my (probably most of our) last week

I hope we get Harden or Beal
I hope we can move up in the draft
I hope we get Turner +
I hope we get something from the Hornets
I hope we get Bogdanovic

I'm going to pass the face paint back to you now. Make sure you put on extra eyeliner this time.

Imagine crying over signing a reliable center for the MLE who averages a double double and is an immediate upgrade on the roster.

Weird fight to pick but keep doing you, little guy!

Even weirder to have this team sit there and promote positive culture and all that BS for two years and then go blow the MLE on a Klutch client Karadashian with more baggage than Logan Airport.

The guy is a jackass, but he's our jackass now, so if he play well that's all that matters, but I'm not going to sit here and pretend that the hypocrisy isn't strong or that Ainge made some godly move that saved us from mediocrity.

Nobody is saying Ainge made some godly move that saved us from mediocrity. Better yet, if you thought this team would be mediocre because they lost Hayward then that's on you.

But you've already demonstrated your lack of knowledge and obsession with crying over every move or move they don't make. Sounds like a fun time!

I agree Theis is not as strong as TT at teh Center spot.

I fully disagree on every level that TT is a better player than Theis.

So I guess mark it down when Theis is a free agent next year to see what he gets paid and we can see who the league agrees with.

Yes, one more shooter. Bogi is creative with the rock too. He'd look great out there with Jaylen and Jayson.
