It probably just looks like the players shrunk because they posted their height without shoes.

Official measurements used by NBA team websites (and college team websites) are in-shoes.

Here's the link, though:
https://www.si.com/nba/draft/newsfeed/2023-nba-draft-official-combine-measurements

I am aware everyone shrinks without their shoes but there are some players who went at least 2" shorter..

Lotta guys I don't really like in this draft, esp. in the first round. Some guys of various types I do like:

Jamie Jaquez (liked him before and seems like he tested/measured well)
Jackson-Davis (same)
M. Gueye (one of the best projects in that range imo)
Adem Bona (Claxton type)
edit: Jordan Walsh (if they think he has any real offensive upside)

Also like Edey and Podziemski not sure they are the fits for this team though. Also not Celtics related, not really buying a lot of the lotto guys really, draft doesn't seem that good outside a few. I like Wallace seems like a solid starter type that most teams would love. Hendricks if he's good seems like a guy tons of teams would want.

But seems like a lot of guys with weird mixes that don't fit together super well. Lot of under-sized power wings, one-dimensional smaller SG types, athletes that maybe don't know how to play, etc.

Kalela wrote:If the Celtics are interested in a wing, I am still convinced this guy is the best 3 and D wing in the draft that may still be available in the 2nd round where the Celtics draft. The Uconn guy Andre Jackson measured much better than I anticipated and shot much better at the combine as well.

Olivier-Maxence Prosper:

Height: 6' 6.75' (Without Shoes)
Hand Length: 8.25
Hand Width: 10.00
Standing Reach: 8' 8.00'
Wingspan: 7' 1.00

Kalela wrote:I don't know if anyone else already mentioned him but Olivier-Maxence Prosper is a player to keep an eye on. He looks like an elite wing defender with good size. The way he shut down Jordan Hawkins in tonight's game in the Big East tournament was impressive. Hawkins is a difficult player to guard because he never stops moving all game and he is a lights-out shooter.

I am also becoming a fan of OMP.. Though I'm afraid that he will sneak up into the 1st round before we pick.

It would be nice if the C's could find a big man (6'10+) with some shooting upside, somebody they can either develop under Horford or stash for a season with an aim towards eventually replacing some of what Horford does as a stretch big. Obviously the chances of getting somebody as impact as Al in the early 30's is extremely low, but just somebody who allows you to play that same way would be intriguing.

GG Jackson measured even taller than anticipated... Would be about 6' 9 and a 1/2 with shoes.. I said I really liked him before he has now shooting up to my number one hope we can trade up for player. I think he has a chance to be better than most of the predicted top 10 pics..

He's one of my favorites as long as you don't expect much defensively...

I'm predicting Charlotte wins it...
They need to get the next Hornets owner off to a good start.
