Gonna be funny when he lights the Warriors up a game in the finals and we end up winning the game because of it.

The only thing the deadbeat is lighting is the fireplace in his cushy crib

While you sit at home and call him a deadbeat from your $2 folding chair.

I can only hope because currently, he's light years away from being a significant contributor.

He's not confident and playing scared. Impossible to be a good player with that mindset.

I hope so, but it's going to require some quality assets. He has one of the worst contracts in the NBA.

How long are you okay with running him out there 20-25 minutes a game? What is he doing that warrants that?

Celtics need more Brown and less Hayward. I'd make Brown first off the bench and give him starter's minutes. Hayward needs his minutes cut. Playing him this many minutes is hurting the team and destroying chemistry.

"Light years?" Really? I know he hasn't been great this season and he's been inconsistent, but "light years?" Yabu is **** "light years" away from doing anything significant, not Hayward.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

I agree if regular season wins is your main goal. But we need Hayward come playoff time so we let him play through his recovery/inconsistency.

When Hayward scored 35, the posts looked a lot different than after the game vs the Warriors.

Unfortunately, his 2 point games are far more common than his 35 point ones.

Hayward will most likely never be the same player he was in Utah. Sometimes you never get over the mental part.

Re: Gordon Hayward Thread
I really wonder what trading Terry and Morris would do for Hayward. It would easily open up minutes, and maybe give the guy some confidence to be aggressive.
Kyrie/Smart/Jayson/Horf/Baynes to open up games, and Brown/Hayward leading the team off the bench throughout. A lot of mouths to feed right now.

I think next year we’ll see more consolidation of the lineup. Hopefully because of a trade for AD or Beal. I’m just happy Hayward’s back on the court again. I’d love it if he came back and dropped 20 points every night, but I’m not expecting not ever expected that this year.
I think he’ll be quite a bit better post-ASB and moreso by April, but I don’t think we’ll really see pre-injury Hayward until next year

Re: Gordon Hayward Thread
One of Ainge's biggest priorities should be finding a way to dump Hayward contract. Probably an impossible task unfortunately.

Yes, he's untradeable. And what you see now is what you are going to get in the playoffs, and probably next year as well. It's not just that Hayward doesn't help, he affirmatively hurts with his poor shooting, defensive lapses and turnovers. They would be a better team with someone else on the floor. At some point Stevens will have to cut Hayward's minutes and play Ojeleye or Theis instead. Otherwise the Celtics can forget about beating good teams.

Watching this video and a few other videos of his series against them..can't be easy for the guy to watch the tape from yesterday and not feel totally depressed knowing what he could of done to them if eh was still the same player. Just nowhere near the same level of athleticism or speed. If this guy showed up in 2 months along with Irving Golden State wouldn't even know what hit them.
