Ah that stinks. But who knows maybe he'll slip to later in the draft.

Obviously we will be trading Brown for Flagg this offseason.

Jrue/Pritch
White/Craig
Tatum/Hauser
Flagg/Horford
KP/Kornet

Statistically, he looks vaguely like Hali-lite.

Per 40, freshman Hali posted 1.9 steals, 1 block, 1.6 fouls. Egor = 1.7 steals, .6 blocks, 1.8 fouls, albeit with some drop off in conference play.

I see people hating on Egor, but if he merely hit more threes the narrative would be different. He has the right measurables and there is evidence that he has some of the skills & IQ that scouting capsules say he has, so I think he'll be at least decent in time, just won't necessarily contribute much at all for at least the next two seasons.

If I have him in for a workout, I try to get a better feel for his mental toughness. Quoting this scouting report,

While in Spain, Demin has participated in three youth EuroLeague tournaments, where he established himself as the team’s primary point guard but lost the competition for the unofficial status of team leader to Hugo González, who outmatched him in production and aggressiveness. Demin thrives in situations where everything is going well but hasn’t always been the “guy” during crucial stages, which also appears to be the case in the NCAA. After a round of impressive performances against weaker competition, Demin disappeared when it came to stronger opponents and scored the least points among BYU starters in a blowout loss to Houston, the highest-ranked team they have played.

He seemed to get off to a hot start against cupcake competition but fell back quickly after that. His shooting is suspect but the bigger criticism I’ve heard is he’s quite upright, lacking twitch and nimbleness and that that is a bigger concern than the shooting. His passing and feel is high level and he’s only just turned 19 yrs last week. ESPN still has him in the top 10 of the Givony/Woo mock draft. Other analysts have him in the 2nd round.

Yesterday against Iowa St he played 20 minutes and underwhelmed with 3pts/3reb/3asst on 1-4 FGAs and with 4 TOVs though BYU won the games

Strong games yesterday by a bunch of guys who the Celtics worked out last year (but they returned to college for another year)

JT Toppin (another JT?)
Payton Sandfort (another Payton?)
Alex Karaban (grew up a Celtics fan)
Nique Clifford
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Nique Clifford 25/14/4/2/1 game against Nevada.

Shooting a cool .722/.579/1.000 over 4 games in March, just too good for those smaller schools at his age.

I like Nique, being a senior hurts his stock, but helps a qinning team like Boston cause he has lots of experience.

I mean, whats not to like
Great size at 6'6 ~ 200lbs

Can do a bit of everything.

Just realized Tankathon has us taking him at 31 now. Sweet.

Truthfully could be a cheap, yet contribute right away player off the bench.

I love shooters for sure, but how well can he defend? and will he really measure in at 6'6?

Will he be just another same level player as J Walsh and Scheierman who we can barely find time for?

*Also, is he a high floor but low ceiling type? should Boston go for a high Ceiling - low floor type instead?? Just random questions I have.

It's Miles Byrd to Boston Day! Celebrate responsibly.

I'd be quite happy with him, and Beringer as a stash in the slim scenario we make both picks.

D is one of his strong points as well. But, I agree with the Walsh / Baylor thing. Will be tough to find time for him or Bryd or whoever. But, if the CBA costs us Jrue or Hauser, some minutes open up for at least one of them.

Alex Condon jump shot is pretty darn ugly, but aside from that, I’m really warming up to him as a 4/5 I wouldn’t mind drafting with 28 or 32. Versatile, good passer, competitor, gets to the line… seems like a +Theis on the upside and JT rocks with those type of guys.

https://edemirnba.substack.com/p/maxime-raynaud-scouting-report

Maxime Raynaud is a lottery pick. The over-seven-foot senior has a clear role as a short-roll-passing pick-and-pop five with immense defensive versatility. Here's why NBA teams want him so badly:

Saw this last night, just hadn't got to post it yet lol.

On a more serious note I am all for grabbing a lotto talent big man at 28, especially one that fits the team's play style. Curious the defensive part of that write-up behind the pay wall. Also for a guy that is a senior big man that he says is a potential lotto talent, why is his shooting efficiency so low? For a guy like that to have an EFG/TS% of .529/.561 is concerning to me. I get that he is not going to be asked to shoot/score as much in the pros but still.

He has a ton of offensive responsabilities in his first season as the true number one option on his team. I think some growing pains can be expected. I understand wanting more efficiency out of your center but I'm pretty sure that if the other center prospects were asked to carry a 31.2 USG% their true shooting numbers would go down the drain too. For what it's worth he had a 62.2 TS% on 26.1 USG% last season. So I wouldn't worry too much about his efficiency in a reduced role.

Trade the 28th pick to Charlotte for the 34th and a future 2nd.
Then take Clifford at 31, and Condon at 34.

Zuby Ejiofor, if he declares for the draft, will likely go undrafted, but I see NBA potential in him. While undersized for a center, he possesses great hands, works tirelessly in the paint, and is surprisingly quick, allowing him to defend guards and perimeter players effectively.
