And at this point in his career, RJ Hunter was an All Star. Let's give RWIII more than 2 weeks before coming to any conclusions about where he's going in life.

The kid -- and he's a kid, quite obviously -- goofed, twice. He needs to grow up fast, but that's what the Celtics coaching staff and the team's veterans are there to help him with -- not through coddling but by challenging him to be a man and good teammate.

Exactly. Every kid makes mistakes. If you got talent and don't screw up too badly, you'll keep getting chances though. Hopefully he'll get there eventually because we really can use his skills.

Listen. I hope whatever backlash he got works. I am bullish on the talent.

One thing ya’ll got to consider, vets have no obligation to teach. Horford will, because he is that good a guy. But i am sure theis, Baynes and definitely not mook will “teach” the kid.

Kyrie won’t either.

Nba is not for teaching how to live. And, he isn’t a kid. He is 20 years old. There are 20 years old in the workforce. He has 2 years of college.

Youth isn’t an excuse.

I agree a lot of guys won't bother. But someone will.

I don't know about you, but at 20 I was irresponsible as hell. Heck, I didn't learn real responsibility until I had my first full-time, year-round job, which was at age 25 (I went to law school straight from college). It was fun and games before that.

Now, did I miss the first day of work? Of course not. But I did make mistakes early in my career that I learned from and didn't repeat.

Anyway, we're all on the same page. He didn't make a good first impression, or a second one. He needs to be an adult to contribute to this team. And we're all rooting for that.

Robert Williams is going to be on the celtics team. I said it before. That statement confirmed it. The goal is to get him healthy for the regular season. His long term health is more important than the present. I had a feeling he was going to make the team, and not go to the G league.

I think he’ll make the team.....and then go to the G league. Probably a lot of back and forth.

I think he makes the team and stays there. There is nothing he can learn in the G league that he can't learn with the celtics. In the G league he can even pick up bad habits. He provides what the celtics don't currently have, and that is Shot blocking, and a rebounder, a good rebounder. He makes the team but gets limited minutes in the range of 10- 15 while he learns the NBA.

I agree with you.. Lot of bad habits can be picked up in Maine.. He needs to be on the roster.

I think he needs both. He needs to be around Tatum, Brown, Horford as much as possible but he also needs to play in real games. I think he’ll spend some time in Maine early on just because of roster crunch. If he doesn’t need to..... fantastic.

I'm with you. He's already beyond the G league. If he's healthy enough to play, it will be in Boston.

What a knucklead! The Celtics will need to babysit this guy 24 hours a day:

Boston Celtics' Robert Williams lost his wallet twice in two-day stretch before joining Summer League team

Maybe this makes no sense, but I am encouraged by how absent minded he is...or perhaps the innocent, naive nature of his immaturity. He doesn't seem to have an attitude or negative energy or apathetic, he's just an absolute flake...which seems like the lesser of the evils and more manageable.

I'm with that. -- He needs both. -- That's what the G-League is for.
Give him some reps down there, and shoot him back to the 3rd String.

If there are any injuries or opportunities, then he'll be ready.

Danny Ainge comment seems like they are planning on him making the team, so as a result they are not rushing him to play in the summer league, and make his injury even worse. They are planning on getting him ready for the regular season which can only mean on thing playing with the celtics. Why mention the regular season if he is going to play with maine redclaws. It doesn't make any sense.

Read on Twitter

This shows that they plan on him making the team, and want to keep him healthy as best as they can.

He should be playing important minutes in every game he is healthy.

All he means is that summer league doesn’t matter. The games are below G league level and risking injury to play in these garbage games is pointless. You are reading too much into this - RW hasn’t earned anything yet.
